Marie Creamer

Funeral service 2:00PM Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Virgil Bishop of Mount Sinai Baptist Church officiating, burial will follow at Bevil Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers are Mike Glover, Tim McBride, Larry Geurin, Charles Lee, Sr. and Charles Lee, Jr. with Zack Stone and John Stone as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation 12:00PM until service time Friday.

She was born in Paris to the late Harris and Eva Woolverton Kimmons. On January 14, 1961 she married Troy Creamer, he preceded July 9, 2004.

Survived by daughters: Linda (Charles) Lee, Sr., Paris, Barbara Sue (Larry) Geurin, Hollow Rock; son-in-law: Mike Nichols, Paris; grandchildren: Michael Glover, Tim McBride, Sherry Stone and April Tanner; twelve great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.

Preceded by a daughter: Patricia Gail Nichols, 2003; grandchildren: Tina Taylor Lee, Scotty Maverick Mathenie and Russell Clay Mathenie.

Marie was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church.

John Harville


Funeral service 10:00AM Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Graham of the Henry Church of Christ officiating, burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery.

Visitation 4:00 - 7:00PM Thursday and after 9:00AM Friday.

He was born in Alcorn County, MS to the late Johnny and Dora Newcomb Harville. On March 30, 1944 he married Inetha Unwin Harville, she preceded October 11, 2004.

Survived by daughter-in-law: Dreama Harville, Jeffersonville, IN; sons: Alvin (Barbara) Harville, Buchanan, Gerald (Linda) Harville, Beech Bluff; sisters: Celesta Moore, Collierville, Barbara Ann Ray, Jackson; Ray (Ann) Harville, Henderson, Max (Catherine) Harville, Jackson; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Preceded by a son: Royce Harville, September 14, 1999; sister: Dortha Richardson; brother: Hugh Harville and a grandchild.

Mr. Harville was a faithful member of the Henry Church of Christ. He was a US Army Veteran.

Thomas William Meadows

Funeral service 3:00PM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Campbell of Point Pleasant Baptist Church officiating, burial will follow at VanDyke Grove Cemetery.

Visitation 12:00PM Saturday until service time.

He was born in Sophia, West Virginia to the late Steven and Mary Furrow Meadows. He married Carolyn J. Stapleton Meadows March 10, 1960, she is preceded.

Survived by sons: Matt (Michelle) Meadows, Paris, Stephen (Jada) Meadows, KY; sisters: Shirley Boyce, August, West Virginia, Grace McCoy, August, West Virginia, Stephana Robbins, Murfreesboro, Geraldine Berg, Petersburg, West Virginia, Claudette Tribble, PawPaw, West Virginia; brother: Donald Meadows, Peru, IN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded by two brothers: Rodney Meadows and Ronald Meadows.

Mr. Meadows was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Thomas retired from N & W Railroad, was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, loved gardening and antique cars.

Jean Sloas

Funeral service 11:00AM Saturday at Buchanan Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Criswell officiating, burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Buchanan.

Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home.


She was born in Chicago, IL to the late Eugene B. and Anna A. Willard. On June 15, 1956 she married Ralph Clay Sloas, he preceded September 16, 2009.

Survived by daughters: Sondra (Norman) Bell, Buchanan, Laura Sloas (Tom), Warrenville, IL; son: Michael Sloas, Chicago, IL; sister-in-law: Carol Gillmore, Missouri; grandchildren: ten; great-grandchildren: six; cousins: Janice Carter and Delores Knutson both of Minnesota, Butch and Beverly Pfeiffer of Quinnesec, MI and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded by a daughter: Brenda Jean Sloas, March 1959; brothers: Eugene "Burt" Willard and Donald Hardin.

Jean volunteered for several years at Henry County Medical Center and was also a member of the Buchanan Homemakers club. she and her husband were instrumental in getting the Peddler out, carrying it to press as well as delivery. She enjoyed riding on the pontoon boat and loved to fish.

Linda Renee Teague

Linda Teague, 54, McKenzie, died May 1 at Jackson-Madison County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at Trinity Funeral Home, with burial at New Hope Church Cemetery, Mansfield.

She was a graduate of Henry County High School and employed by BellSouth for many years.

Survivors include her sons Steven Funderburk, Georgia; Jessie Townes Jr., McKenzie; and several grandchildren, brothers Howard Teague, Chicago; Ray Tague, Springville; Odell Teague, Nashville; Dale Teague, Georgia; Richard Teague, NJ and Joe Louis Teague, no address listed.


Elroy Davis

Joseph Elroy Davis, age 84, of Buchanan, Tenn., died Friday, May 3, 2013, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn. He was married April 1, 1964 to Betty Roney Davis and she survives. He was a self employed Commercial Fisherman for many years and served as a Medic in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is also survived Two Daughters, Peggy (Raymond) Denton of Paris, Tenn, and Barbara Hutson of Paris, Tenn;

Three Sons, Carl Paschall of Paris, Tenn, Jackie Paschall of Murfreesboro, Tenn, and Danny Paschall of Portage, Ind.

Two Sisters, Evelyn Pierpoint of Waverly, Tenn, and Linda Pierpoint of Kentucky

And One Brother, Glen Davis of Mississippi.

Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, May 6, 2013 and after 10:00 AM to Tuesday, May 7, 2013.

The funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 1:30 PM Tuesday, May 7, 2013 , Tommie Dicus officiating.

Internment will be at New Liberty Cemetery in Buchanan, Tenn.

Dawn Marie Crawford

Dawn Marie Roberts Crawford, age 38, of Mayfield, Ky., died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Mayfield, KY. She enjoyed bingo and dancing.

She was the daughter of Jean Roberts of Mayfield, KY and Robert Furwa of Michigan.

She is also survived by her Daughter-Kimberly Roberts of Murray, Ky.
Two Sons-Robbie Lee Roberts of Murray, Ky and Jesus Mendez of Texas

Three Brothers, Glen (Sharon) Riley, Jr. of Hickory, Ky, Chester Allen Riley of Mayfield, Ky and Robert Lee Furwa of Hamtramck, Mich.

Two Step Brothers, Michael (Sharon) Krezinski of Paris, TN. and Charley (Stephanie) Parker of Camden, TN.

She is also survived by her special friend, Joe Parker of Paris, TN and Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. Paris, Tenn., from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Tuesday, May 7, 2013.

Funeral service will be Graveside at Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield, KY at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 7, 2013.

Chad Kennedy will officiate. Interment will be at Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield, Ky.


Peggy Swayne Tucker

Peggy Tucker, 75, Buchanan, died May 1 at Morningside in Paris. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sulphur Well Church of Christ Cemetery.

She married Richard Tucker in 1982 and he died in 1992.

She was a long-time employee of Paris Landing State Park and was a life-long member of Sulphur Well Church.

Survivors include a son, Frank Maupin, Springville; a sister, Rosemary Neese, Buchanan; a brother, Robert Swayne and grand and great-grandchildren.


Orville "Doug" Douglas

Doug Douglas, 96, Buchanan, died April 29 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal church, McKenzie, with burial at Pound Family Cemetery in Buchanan. Ridgeway Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Douglas, five daughters, Becky Bryson, puryear; Barbara Pound and Betty Cowen, both of Buchanan; shirley Hale of Paris and Beverly Ramsey, Malin, Ky.; two sisters, Gerlean Weston, Calif.; Elaine Baeumel, Texas; one brother, Art Douglas, Calif.; and number grand and great-grandchildren.

He was district manager of Knudsen Creamery in Calif.

Billy Ray Parker

Billy Ray Parker, 63, Mayfield, died April 29 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial in Bevil Cemetery.

He was a former skidder driver for Murphey Logging in Mayfield.

Survivors include  sons, Michael Krezinski, Paris; and Charley Parker, Camden; two sisters, Peggy Taylor and Betty Hutchenson, a brother, Bennie Joe Parker,  all of Paris.


George BeVier

Funeral service 2:00PM Thursday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Copeland of Mt. Zion Baptist Church officiating with burial to follow at Rogers Cemetery in Puryear, TN.

Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Neal, Billy Dale Clayton, David Alsup, Michael Plano, Jimmy Tubbs and Alan Knowles.

Visitation 3:00 - 6:00PM Wednesday and after 9:00AM Thursday.

He was born in Michigan to the late George and Ruth Shockey BeVier. He married Renda Sue Rogers BeVier in 1971, she preceded September 13, 1996.

Survived by sons: Dean BeVier, Cottage Grove, Dale (fiancée Heather Hanifan) BeVier, Paris; sisters: Ruth Ann Nelson, AZ, Evelyn BeVier, MI; brothers: Curt BeVier, FL, Duane BeVier, MI, Carl BeVier, WY and a grandchild: Destiny Grace BeVier.

He was a loving father and loved to fish.


Edward Arnold Townsend

Edward Townsend, 74, Paris, died Saturday, April 27 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Springhill Baptist Church building fund, c/o John Foust, 2740 Hwy 77, Paris.


Virgil Augustus Easley

Funeral service 2:00PM Saturday, April 27, at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. James Smith of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church officiating, burial will follow at Elkhorn Cemetery.

Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Friday and after 10:00AM Saturday.

He was born in the Elkhorn Community of Henry County to the late Gus Washington and Mattie Kendall Easley. On January 9, 1954 he married Gladys Peale Easley, she preceded February 27, 2013.

Survived by a daughter: Joy Rose (George) Drye, Elkhorn, TN.

Mr. Easley was a member of the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. He was a retired farmer. Virgil was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed working in his garden and hunting.
