Frances Foust

Frances Foust, 87, Mansfield, died April 3 at Plumley Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturdfay, APril 6 at McEvoy Funeral Home, with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Her husband, Ferrell Foust, preceded her in death. Survivors include her sister, Betty Jane Sutton, Michigan and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

She was a former employee of Salant and Salant and Henry County Medical Center. She was a longtime member of Mansfield Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

 

Earline Capps Morris

Funeral service 1:00PM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Rex Buford, Gary S. Collier and Bro. Ed Howard officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery.

Her sons, son-in-law and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Friday and after 10:00AM Saturday.

She was born in Greenfield, TN to the late Loren Lafayette "Bill" and Euna Mae Jenkins Capps. On March 15, 1952 she married Charles Wendell Morris, he preceded March 15, 2010.

Survived by a daughter: Angela (William S. "Bubba") Sparks, Cottage Grove, TN sons: Gary D. (Nancy) Morris, Paris, Glenn T. (Teresa) Morris, Bartlett, TN, Robert C.(Lovell) King, Denver, CO; sister: Merle (Billy) Gooch, Paris; sisters-in-law: Willie Mae Lampkins, Paris, Laverne(Hulon) Hopkins, Paris, Kathleen Coley, Paris; brother-in-law: Dempsey Morris, Dearborn, MI; grandchildren: Chris (Ashley) Morris, Nick (Meredith) Morris, Josh (fiancée Loren Archer)Morris, Amanda (fiancé Juan Alvarado) Morris, Lindsay Morris, Jenny (Jon) Thomas, Jeremy (Jane) King, Travis Sparks; great-grandchildren: Jackson Morris, Olivia Morris, Sam Morris, Jordan King, Kyle King, Samantha King and Cooper Thomas; special niece and caregiver: Betty Joyce Stephenson along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Preceded by a daughter-in-law: Judy Marie Snider Morris; son-in-law: William Larry Clayton; niece: Cheryl Ann Coley and a sister-in-law: Rachel Shelton.

She was a member of the Como Church of Christ. Retired from Holley Carburetor Plant and was a homemaker.

Violet Carter

Memorial service 2:00PM Monday at Jones Chapel Baptist Church with Randy Phillips-Nephew and Garry Phillips-brother officiating.

No visitation is scheduled prior to the service.

She was born in Paris to the late Verner Viven and Hettie Wood Phillips. On November 14, 1979 she married K.M. (Red) Carter, he preceded July 13, 1991.

Survived by daughters: Debra Murphy, Livonia, MI, Sheila (Scott) Wilson, Medina, OH; sons: timothy Murphy, Westland, MI, Sean(Jan) Murphy, Royal Palm Beach, FL; sister: Vernell Stout, Paris, brothers: Wallace "Buck" (Gloria) Phillips, Jackson, Garry (Betsy) Phillips, Paris, Joe (Barbara) Phillips, Brooklyn, MI; three grandchildren: Daniel (Angela) Rohring, Raeanna (Chris) Webb, Jeffrey Lindahl; three great-grandchildren: Taylor, Madison and Tyson Rohring, also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She attended Jones Chapel Baptist Church.

Gary Waddell

Gary Waddell, 74, Puryear, died Sunday, March 31 at Plumley Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Cremation to follow.

His wife, Beverly, survives with their sons, Mike and Billy Waddell, both of Puryear, and his brother, John, Georgia.

He was a retired tool and die journeyman with U.S. Tool and Gage and served in the Army in the Korean conflict.

Edward Willey

Edward Willey, 74, Paris, died Friday, March 29, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The body was cremated.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Willey, five daughters, Beckey Gallimore, Va.; Jacquelina Ansell, California; Mary Cason, Okla; Vicki Page, Cottage Grove, Valerie Caris, Anderson Indiana, and one son, Daniel Caris, Texas, plus four sisters and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

He operated Ed's Applicance Repair and was a U.S. Air Force beteran. He was a member of AMVETS Post 45 and the American Legion.

 

Charles Edward Morris

Charles Morris, 80, Paris, died Friday, March 29, at Plumley Rehab Center. His body was cremated and no services are planned. Ridgeway Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

He was retired from Mar-Kel Lighting in Paris and was a member of the East Wood Church of Christ.

His wife, Helen Priddy Morris, died in 2007. Survivors include two daughters: Diane Brooks, Paris; Wanda Morris, Bolivar; one sister, Mary Oliver of Paris.

Myrtle Louise Roberts

Myrtle Roberts, 77, Paris, died Saturday, March 30 at Plumley Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial at Shady Grove Cemetery.

She married John Roberts,who died in 2009. Survivors include three sons, John Roberts Jr. and Elwood Roberts, both of Paris and Rick Roberts, Wasilla, Alaska.

She was a lampmaker at Mark-Kel Lighting and a member of New Bethel Church.

 

Dale Elwood Jackman

Dale Jackman, 80, Buchanan, died March 28 at Henry County Healthcare Center. The body will be cremated; there will be no service. Ridgeway Funeral home has charge of arrangements.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He lived most of his life in Des Moines and retired to Buchanan. He was a former contractor and was a member of the Paris Landing Amvets and Springville American Legion.

Survivors include his sisters, Mary Jackman, Omaha; Lola McKnight, Norwalk; three brothers, Fay Jackson, Cedar Rapids; Gerald Jackson, San Diego; and Phillip Jackson, Johnston, Iowa.

 

Myrtle Roberts

Myrtle Roberts, 77, Paris, died March 30 at Plumley Rehab Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery.

 

Violet Phillips Carter

Violet Carter, 79, Paris, died March 29 at Henry County Healthcare Center. Funeral arrangements at McEvoy Funeral Home are incomplete and will be announced.

 

Mary Ruth Mobley

Mary Mobley, 88, formerly of Paris, died Friday, March 29 at her home in Mebene, North Carolina. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Paul Mobley.

Ridgeway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in RoseLawn Cemetery.

She was a nurse and active with the Girl Scouting program in West Tennessee. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She retired after 17 years as a Charge Nurse at Henry County Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Paul Mobley, Jr., Mebene, daughters Margaret Anderson, Mebane; Robin Kitchens, Wilmington, NC; son, Dr. Paul Mobley III, Hawaii; and several grand and great-grandchildren.

Kaleigh Paige Love Haines

Kaleigh Haines, seven months old infant, died March 25 in Paris. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sparks Street Church of Christ, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rawls Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

George Cook

George Cook, 87, Paris, died Thursday, March 28, at his residence. Arrangements at Trinity Funeral Home are incomplete.

 

 

Edgar Phelps

James Edgar Phelps, 92, Paris, died March 28 at Henry County Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.

He married Edna Throgmorton Phelps and she susrvives with a daughter, Emily Garthright, Memphis; and several grand and great-grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran and received two Purple Hearts. He retired after working many years at the Holley Carburetor Plant and he was a member of the First Baptist Church.

 

David Jacobs

David LeRoy Jacobs, age 61, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN. He was Born March 31, 1951 in Lima,OH. He will be Cremated with at Service at later date. He was a Baptist and enjoyed fishing, auctions and horses and livestock and was a Former fireman for Ft. Shawnee Township Fire Dept. in Ohio. He was also a Vietman U.S. Army Veteran. He is survived by his son, Brandon Jacobs of Paris, TN; Stepsons, Jeffery McKenzie of Cridersville, OH, Cody Bonifas of Celina, OH, and Caleb Bonifas of Celina, OH; brother, Richard Jacobs of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Jesse McKenzie and Paige McKenzie of Cridersville, OH; Step Grandchild, Connor Ward of Celina, OH; and former wife, Tamela Bucy of Paris, TN. He was preceded in death by father, Mark Jacobs; mother Frances Rex Jacobs and 1 brother

 

Verie Hillard

Verie Hillard, 89, Springville, died March 23 at her resident. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial in Roselawn Memory Garden.

 

Ronald "BabyBrother" Cowan

Ronald Cowan, 70, Memphis, formerly of Paris, died March 18 in Memphis. Funeral services were held at Rawls Funeral Home March 23.

 

Victoria Pareso

Victoria Paresco, 87, Paris, died March 20 at Henry County Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at Ridgeway Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 24, with burial at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.

Survivors include a daughter, Bernice Hart, Paris; son, Samuel Rodriguez, of Minn.; two brothers, Pedro, Florida; and Norberto, Puerto Rico and several grand and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the Caring Hearts Fund, 1290 Kelley Dr., Paris; and St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, 38105.

Dorothy Spencer

Dorothy Spencer, 82, Paris, died March 21 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 25 at Friendship Baptist Church, Medina, with burial in the church cemeteery. Ridgeway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She worked at Dr. Chesemore Clinic, Henry County General Hosptial and St. Francis Hospital in memphis.

Her husband, W.A. Spencer, preceded in death. Survivors include a son, Randy, Paris; two brothers, Bill Miller, Branson, Mo.; and Jerry Miller, Medina.

Beverly Ann Bomar

 

Beverly Bomar, 71, Paris, died March 21 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24 at McEvoy Funeral Home, with burial at Bevil Cemetery.

She married Billy Bomar and he preceded in death. Survivors include two daughters, Landa Elizondo, Paris; Lori Green, Huntingdon; son Billy Bomar Jr., Paris; sister, Patricia Washington, Texas; two brothers, Terry Bynum, Sharon; and Perry Schmidt, Oak Park, Cali. and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Springville Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Springhill Baptist Church building fund, 2740 Hwy 77, Paris; or the W.G. Rhea Library, 400 W. Washington St., Paris.

Gary Will Wimberly

Gary Wimberly, 68, Paris, died Wednesday, March 20, at Henry County Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial in Stewart County Memorial Gardens, Dover.

He attended East Wood Church of Christ.

Survivors include his daughter Anna Wimberly, Pris; daughter, Missy Wimberly, Benton, Ky.; two sons, Todd, Paris; and Cory Wimberly of Puryear; sister, Carole Cirrincione and brother Steve Wimberly, both of Chicago; and brother, Brian Wimberly, Paris.

 

Lisa Jo Holcomb

Lisa Jo Holcomb, 52, Hollow Rock, died TUesday, March 19, at Plumley Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial at Henry Co. Tabernacle Cemetery, Springville.

She married Phillip Holcomb, who survives with a daughter, Traci Lackey, Paris; son, Joseph Walker, Puryear, step-son Dakota Holcomb, Miss.; sister, Vicki Taylor, Paris; and brother, Junior Powers, Paris.

She worked for 24 years at Tecumseh Products and formerly worked at Uncle Lee's. She was a member of Open Doors Community Church.

Marthan "Marty" Laird

Funeral service 11:00AM Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jenna Goggins of the First Presbyterian Church and Stefan Gerville-Reache her grandson officiating, burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home and after 10:00AM Saturday at First Presbyterian Church.

She was born in St. Louis, MO to the late Irving Lawrence and Ann McComb Spencer. On February 1, 1947 she married Edward William Laird, he preceded September 25, 2010.

Survived by daughters: Ann (Loic) Gerville-Reache, Dickson, TN, Margaret (Alan) Camp, Bethlehem, GA; sons: Chae (Beverly) Laird, Birmingham, AL, Grant (Debbie) Laird, Puryear, TN, Price (Emily) Laird, Lawrenceville, GA; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Laird was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Paris. She was a member of the Quota Club, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Marthas of the First Presbyterian Church in Paris. She enjoyed sewing and needle work, her dogs and traveling with her husband, Edward.

Katie Harding Woodford

Katie Woodford, 77, Paris, died March 18 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at McEvoy Funeral Home, with burial at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Survivors include her husband, George Woodford, son Ricky Nance, Paris; brother Jerry Bridges, Henry.

She was former owner of Harding Food City.

 

Mildred Jones

Mildred Jones, 99, Paris, died Sunday, March 17, at her residence.

Funeral service 2:00PM Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. Rob Martin of First United Methodist Church officiating, burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.

Rotary Club members and the Staff of McEvoy Funeral Home will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation 12:00PM Wednesday until time of service.

She was born in Cottage Grove, TN to the late Robert and Sallie Ballard Doughty. On September 30, 1972 she married Joe H. Jones, he survives in Paris.

Survived by two step-daughters: Linda (Ralph) Goff, Mobile, AL, Cassandra Ewing, Mobile, AL; step-son: Anthony (Amy) Dallmann-Jones, Fond du Lac, WI and a special care giver: Betty Sue Anderson.

Preceded by four sisters: Mattie Hunt Hayes, Wilma Treadway, Joanna Highfill and Rachel Davis and two brothers: Sam and Robert Doughty.

Mrs. Jones was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Raymond Todd

Raymond Todd, 68, Paris, died Sunday, March 17, at his residence.

Funeral service 12:00Noon Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Page of the West Wood Pentecostal Church officiating, burial will follow at Walker Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers are Johnny Oliver, Mike Atchison, Matt Crank, Jonathan Rowlett, Mickey Hart and Johnny Wynn. Larry Nichols will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Tuesday and after 9:00AM Wednesday.

He was born in Henry County, TN to the late Roy Henry and Luella Perry Todd. On September 25, 1998 he married Shirley Anne Manseill Todd, she survives in Paris.

Survived by a daughter Tracy Alford, Summerville, TN; sons: Clint Alan (Vickey) Todd, Camden, TN, Jody Ray (Tara) Todd, Buchanan, TN, Allen (Lisa) Willoughby, Colorado Springs, CO, Walter (Litsa) Willoughby, Killeen, TX; sister: Mickey Lackey, Savannah, TN; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded by two brothers: Robert Todd and Elroy Todd in infancy.

Raymond was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church. He graduated from Cottage Grove School and was a welder for the Henry County highway Department for 30 years.

Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home, with burial in Walker Cemetery.

 

Myrtle Hill

Myrtle Hill, 90, Paris, died Sunday, March 17 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial at Puryear City Cemetery.

She married Marcus Hill and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Judy McGhee, Paris.

She was a member of Central Point Baptist Church and worked 35 years at Holley Carburetor plant.

 

Lou Frances Ellis Scott

Funeral service 11:00AM Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Merwin and Bro. Fred Shackelford officiating, burial will follow at Pleasant Grove (Dumplin Hill) Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers are Frankie Scott, Steven Scott, Johnny Scott, Jason Wade, Brian Scott and Robert Word. Tracy Wade will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation 5:00 - 8:00PM Thursday and after 9:00AM Friday.

Born in Henry County, TN to the late Murray Thomas and Lela Lillian Nanney Ellis. On January 30, 1943 she married Elihu Scott, he preceded March 4, 2006.

Survived by a daughter: Judy (John) Wade, Paris, TN; sister: Gertie Scott, Paris; sisters-in- law: Gertrude Perritt and Louise Scott both of McKenzie; grandchildren: LuAnn (Robert) Word, Lakeland, TN, Jason Wade, Collierville, Frankie (Amanda) Scott, Paris, Steven Scott, Yuma, AZ; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Preceded by a son: Daniel Scott, March 2, 2013; sister: Lee Edna Brown and a great-grandchild.

Mrs. Scott was a Baptist by faith, she was a homemaker and had worked at Rupes Gift Shop formerly of Routen, TN.
