William "Bill" Rhodes

Mr. William "Bill" Rhodes, age 74 of Paris, TN, passed away Saturday June 4, 2016 at his home in Paris, TN.

Graveside service 1:30PM Thursday, June 9, 2016 at McRae's Chapel Cemetery in Big Sandy, TN with Gary Doughten officiating.

Named as pallbearers are Ken Rhodes, Andrew Bigham, John Childers, Jamey Dougherty and Horace Whitehead.

Visitation 11:00AM - 1:00PM Thursday June 9, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home.

He was born September 3, 1941 in Benton County, TN to the late Mitchell Riley Rhodes and Jewell Markham Rhodes.

Survived by a daughter: Kim (Joseph) Gwaltney, Paris, TN; sons: Tim (Heather) Rhodes, Missouri, Jamey (Laura) Dougherty, Paris, TN, Ken (Kate) Rhodes, Paris, TN; grandchildren: nine; sisters: Retia Hill, Paris, TN, Shirley (Joe) Robins, Big Sandy, TN, nieces: Pam Bigham, Sheree (Bruce) Caruthers, Amanda (Chad) Stewart; nephews: Rick (Kathy) Holland, Randy (Tammy) Holland; great nieces: four; great nephews: six.

Preceded by a sister: Imogene Holland and a brother: Fountain Rhodes.

Bill was owner/operator of Bill Rhodes Repair as an electrician and plumber.  He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a veteran serving in the United State Air Force.

Delores Rice

Dolores Catherine Rice, age 97 of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Paris, TN, died Sunday May 29, 2016 at Namaste Alzheimer Center in Colorado Springs, CO.  

Dolores was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church when living in Paris, TN.  She loved singing and watching sports on TV.  She was a homemaker and worked a short time as a secretary in St. Louis, MO. 

Dolores was born December 17, 1918 in St. Louis, MO to the late Robert Leroy Zimmerman and the late Matilda Walk Zimmerman.

Dolores was married on March 11, 1939 to James Edward Rice and he preceded in death on March 12, 2001.  

She is survived by two Daughters, Sharyn (Steve) Creamer of St. Louis, MO, and Beverly Zinke of Colorado Springs, CO.   Dolores had six grandchildren and many great grandchildren.   

Besides her Husband and Parents, She was also preceded in death by her sister, Marian Thuerwaechter.

Ridgeway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Visitation will be Thursday June 9, 2016 from 11 am - 1 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm Thursday June 9, 2016 at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home.   Brian Wimberley will officiate and family members will serve as Pallbearers.

Tommy Clayton

Tommy Edward Clayton, age 69, died Saturday June 4, 2016, at his residence in Paris. He was a retired maintenance worker from Emerson Electric.

Born March 15, 1947, in Paris,he was the son of the late Eulus Clayton and the late Evalee Hudson Clayton. He married Martha Wilson Clayton July 13, 1966, who preceded in death December 9, 2012.

Mr. Clayton was baptist in faith. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his five children: Melissa Faye (Michael) Key of Puryear, Fonda Kaye (James Tracy Sr.) Taylor of Clarksville, TN, Dustin Clayton and special friend Mona Swayne of Paris, Jeremiah Clayton and special friend Karen Collins of Paris and Bradley Clayton of Paris. He leaves a sister: Donna (Tommy) Judd of Paris and a brother Gerald Clayton of Paris. Additional survivors include his grandchildren: Andrew (Samantha) Key, Alex Key, Aaron Key, James Tracy Taylor, Jr., Kelsey Taylor, Clayton Taylor, Chase Clayton, Casey Clayton, Kathryn Clayton and Joshua Clayton. Great Grandchildren include: Faith Taylor, Jaxson Taylor, Gracie Taylor and Serenity Key.

Besides his wife and parents, a grandchild Marcus Edward Bruns preceded in death.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday June 8, 2016 at 2 PM in LeDon Chapel of RIdgeway Funeral Home, with his son in law Michael Key officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 AM on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Birds Creek Cemetery.

Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers.

Emma Lee Jackson

Emma Lee Jackson, age 80 of Paris, TN, passed away Thursday June 2, 2016 at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris.

Funeral service 2:00PM Sunday, June 5, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home with William T. Looney officiating, burial will follow at Bird's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation 12:00PM Sunday, June 5, 2016 until service time at 2:00PM.

Mrs. Jackson was born December 14, 1935 in Whitlock, TN to the late Fred and Carlie Ball Wynn.  On October 2, 1954 she married Joe W. Jackson, he survives, Paris, TN.

Survived by daughters: Rhonda (Jeff) Frasher, Burbank, IL, Donna (Drex) Boyd, Paris, TN; sons: Gerald W. Jackson, Amarillo, TX, Robert (Rebecca) Jackson, Paris, TN; grandchildren: eight; great-grandchildren: thirteen; brother: Sammie (Linda) Wynn, Whitlock, TN and numerous other family members and friends.

Preceded by a grandchild and two brothers.

Emma was known for her cooking especially her from scratch cherry cheese cake.  She also enjoyed reading and crocheting.

Dickie Spaulding

Dickie Ray Spaulding, age 69, of Paris, Tenn., died Monday, May 30, 2016, at Diversicare of Martin in Martin, Tenn. 

Dickie was a retired route salesman for the Latus Distributor in Paris.  He served in the US Army and was a member of the VFW.

Dickie was born March 23, 1947 in Paris, TN to the late Raymond Spaulding and the late Treva Miles Spaulding.

He is survived by his Special Friend, Rhonda Butcher of Paris, TN;  Sister-in-law, Jean Spaulding of Collierville, TN;  Family Friend, Sandra Johnson of Paris, TN;  Cousin, Wayne Spaulding of Buchanan, TN;  and his Friends at Jr's Silver Dollar in Paris, TN.

Beside his Parents, he was also preceded in death by Brothers, Gerald "Bunny" Spaulding, Bobby Dale Spaulding, and Gene Spaulding.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tenn.  

He is to be cremated. No Service is planned. 

Dorothy Sykes

Dorothy Sue Perkins McDaniel Sykes age 85 of Paris, TN passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Henry County Medical Center.

Her funeral service will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home on Friday, June 3, 2016, 2:00 PM with Dr. Trent Bullock of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Visitation for Mrs. Sykes will be at McEvoy Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM.

Named as pallbearers are Matthew Robertson, Nathan Robertson, Bubba Hudgins, Brian Ball, Trent Ball, Jackson Ball, Daniel Powell, and John Roaten.

Dorothy was born on November 12, 1930 to the late Harold Perkins and Callie V. Watson Perkins. On October 11, 1947 she married William Lester McDaniel, he preceded September 27, 1964.  On April 30, 1966 she married Orvis Sykes, he preceded April 24, 2008.

She is survived by a step-son: Paul (Jackie) Sykes of Deltona, FL; grandchildren: Karen Robertson of Paris, TN, Stacy (Bubba) Hudgins of Paris, TN, Rachel (Brian) Ball of Cottage Grove, TN, Megan McDaniel of Kentucky and Jonathan McDaniel of Tennessee; great-grandchildren: Matthew and Nathan Robertson, Abigail and Hannah Hudgins, Trent, Jackson and Kayden Ball. She is also survived by a special family friend, Robert Evans of Paris, TN.

Preceded by a son: James Harold McDaniel, September 9, 2005.

Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris. She was employed at Holley Carburetor in Paris and a homemaker.

Jack "Birdman" Foddrill

Jack "Birdman" Foddrill, age 88, of Buchanan, TN, passed away Saturday May 28, 2016 at Paris Healthcare & Rehab in Paris, TN.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday June 11, 2016 at Antioch United Methodist Church with Linda Hilliard officiating.  

He was born June 20, 1927 in Gary, Indiana to the late Harley R. and Vera E. Beltzhoover Foddrill.  On February 20, 1977 he married June Lynnett Hibart Foddrill who survives in  Buchanan, TN.

Mr. Foddrill is also survived by four children, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren; one sister and two brothers. He enjoyed fishing and bird-watching. Jack worked as a volunteer with the Paris Landing State Park Raptor Rehab Program and was affectionately known as “Birdman” to all.

Zera Brannon

Zera Thomas Brannon, age 96, of Puryear, Tenn., died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Benchmark Healthcare of Puryear in Puryear, Tenn.

He was a member of Mill Creek Presbyterian Church.   He formerly worked as a mechanic at Paris Motor Co. in Paris and Wynns Garage in Puryear, TN.   He also formerly taught small engine repair at the Vocational Technical School in Paris, TN.    Zera owned and operated Brannons Garage in Puryear, TN for several years.   He also played music for the Alvis Wall Band on Jackson Radio Stations for several years.

He was born February 19, 1920 in Puryear, TN to the late William Oscar Brannon and the late Grace Wilson Brannon.

Zera was first married to Myrtie Louise Lamb Brannon and she preceded in death Dec. 12, 1983.   He then married Sarah Elizabeth Seymour Brannon and she preceded in death on January 29, 2003.

He is survived by his one Step Son,  Randy Whitehead of Paris, Tenn;  Niece,  Debbie Brannon Kingston of Benton, KY;  two Nephews,  Larry Brannon of Puryear, TN, and  Ricky Brannon of California.

Besides his Wives and Parents, he was also preceded in death by Brothers, Oval Brannon, and Roscoe Douglas Brannon.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tenn, where the visitation will be from 9 – 11 am Thursday, June  2, 2016.    The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 11:00 am Thursday, June  2, 2016 with Chad Kennedy officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Frankie Nance, Mickey Hart, Doug Brannon, Larry Brannon, Don Jones, and John Kingston.

Interment will be at Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear, Tenn.

Dan Murphey

Dan Murphey, age 73, of Paris, Tenn., died Saturday, May 28, 2016, at his residence in Paris, Tenn. 

He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and Youth Sunday School  teacher.  He was a Longtime Paris Optimist Club Member where he also helped with their Boy Scout Troop.  Dan was a former member and Chairman of the Henry County School Board and former Chairman of the TN School Board Association.   He was the Current President of Clifty Farms Country Meats where he began work with his father in 1964 when it was a small family business and worked there for over 50 years.  Clifty Farms has grown to be a Nationally and Internationally recognized company.  Dan was also know for his Clifty Farms TV commercials filmed with County Music Stars like Grandpa Jones and Roy Acuff but his favorite ones were filmed with his family in his home on the farm.  He also served on the Board of The National Country Ham Association.   Dan was a former Pilot and enjoyed flying.  He also enjoyed cattle farming on his family farm but mostly, he enjoyed being with his Grandchildren in his home or on the farm and also watching any of their ballgames.

Dan was born December 19, 1942 in Detroit, MI to the late Truman Murphey and the late Agatha Donaldson Murphey.

Dan was married on September 7, 1963 to Jane Burnett Murphey and she survives.  He is also survived by his one Daughter,  Beth Harrod of Paris, Tenn;  one Son,  Michael (Susannah) Murphey of Paris, Tenn;  one Sister,  Marilyn (Bob) Beach of Springfield, Mo;  nine Grandchildren,  Shaun Harrod, Jordan Harrod, Davy Harrod, Aiden Harrod, Janna Harrod, Jesse Harrod, Sam Murphey, Ben Murphey, and Emma Jane Murphey;  and Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Besides his Parents, he was also preceded in death by a Son, David Joseph Murphey.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn.  Visitation will be at First Baptist Church from  1 – 3 pm Sunday, May 29, 2016 with the Funeral Service at First Baptist Church at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 29, 2016.

Dr. Trent Bullock will officiate and Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Shaun Harrod, Jordan Harrod, Davy Harrod, Aiden Harrod, Jesse Harrod, Sam Murphey, and Ben Murphey.

There will be a Private Family Interment in the Murphey Family Cemetery on the family farm south of Paris, Tenn.

Mary Ludene Perry Owen

Mrs. Mary Ludene Perry Owen, of Paris Tennessee, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at Henry County Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home, with Pastor Tammy Blankenship, of Lebanon United Methodist Church officiating; burial will follow in Wright Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday; after 12:00 P.M. on Sunday until service time.

Mrs. Owen was born on October 25, 1923 in Paris, Tennessee to the late James Walter Perry and Ora Lee Hicks Perry. On April 24, 1948 she was united in marriage to Harold Ray Owen, who preceded her in death on December 29, 2010.

She is survived by daughter: Gayle Reed, of Paris, TN; grandchildren: Ross (Tracie) Reed, Paris, Tennessee; Robyn (Rick) Tumlin, Acworth, Georgia; great-grandchildren: Rick Tumlin, Jr., Reed Tumlin, Rebekka Reed, Rileigh Tumlin, Rosanna Reed, Chelsea Nash, Rachel Nash; sisters-in-law: Dortha Perry and Betty Owen, both of Paris; brother: Mickie (Anita) Perry, Jackson, Tennessee; brother-in-law: Gordon Owen, Paris, Tennessee.

Mrs. Owen is preceded by a daughter: Paula Lee Owen; son: Harold Ray Owen Jr.; brothers: John Wallace Perry and James Lloyd Perry.

Mrs. Owen is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and is preceded by numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Ludene was a longtime member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. She formerly worked at Salant & Salant and Perry’s Dry Goods of Paris. She was an avid gardener, seamstress, and wonderful cook who dearly loved her family.

Sue Fuqua

Sue Jackson Fuqua, age 80, of Paris, TN, passed away Tuesday May 24, 2016 at Paris Healthcare Center in Paris.

Funeral service 2:00PM Thursday, May 26, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Corey Sawyers of East Wood Church of Christ officiating, burial will follow at Walker Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Justin Barnett, Abbey Barnett, Jake Edwards, Will Barnett, Megan Fuqua, and Jessica Edwards.  Jeremiah Rich will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation 4:00 - 7:00PM Wednesday and after 12:00PM Thursday.

She was born in Henry County, TN to the late Dorris S. and Opal P. Coleman Jackson.  On December 6, 1953 she married Jerry Fuqua, he survives, Paris, TN.

Survived by daughters: Joan Barnett, Paris, TN, Julie (Tim) Edwards, Paris, TN; son: Jack (Joyce) Fuqua, Big Sandy, TN; grandchildren: Jeremiah (Lourdes) Rich, Justin (Hannah) Barnett, Abbey Barnett, Jake Edwards, Will Barnett, Megan Fuqua, Jessica (Chris Berry) Edward; great-grandchildren: nine; brothers: Glenn (Fredda) Jackson, Puryear, TN, Bennie (Wanda) Jackson, Murray, KY, Don (Lavelle) Jackson, Paris, TN and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Preceded by a brother: Ralph Jackson.

Sue was a member of the East Wood Church of Christ and had retired from Union Planters Bank.   She dedicated her life to her family and loved to cook.

Jessie Holden

Jessie Bertalea Holden, age 75, of Buchanan, Tenn., died Thursday, May 19, 2016, at her residence in Buchanan, Tenn. 

She was a retired housekeeper for Vale View Nursing Home in Valparaiso, Indiana.   She was Baptist in faith and she enjoyed collecting dolls.

Jessie was born April 10, 1941 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Thomas Galloway and the late Lillie Thomas Galloway. 

She was married on September 15, 1959 to Lynn Gene Holden and he preceded in death on May 31, 2012.  She is survived by her  two Daughters,  Janie (Bud) Manning of Buchanan, Tenn,  Cynthia (Randy) Cartwright of Valparaiso, Ind;  one Sister,  Marie Galloway of Georgia;  one Brother,  James (Katherine) Galloway of Georgia;  two Grandchildren,  Cliff (Jill) Cartwright, and Todd (Crystal) Cartwright of Valparaiso, IN;  one Great Grandchild,  Ava Cartwright of Valparaiso, IN

Besides her Husband and Parents, she was also preceded in death by Several Brothers and Sisters.

Margaret "Midge" Horton

Margaret Louise “Midge” Horton, age 91, of Paris, Tenn., died Friday, May 20, 2016, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn. 

She was a retired Trust Officer for American Bank in Racine,WI.    She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church,  The American Legion,  The Pink Ladies at H.C.M.C., and the Welcome Wagon.   She was a Veteran of the US Army.   Midge also loved gardening, golfing, boating, and reading.

Midge was born May 16, 1925 in Rewey, WI to the late George Friday and the late Elizabeth Preston Friday.

She was married to Peyton Horton and he preceded in death.  She is survived by her one Daughter,  Janet (Mike) Larson of Mt. Pleasant, Wis;  one Son,  Richard (LoEtta) Nutt of Racine, Wis;  one Sister, Katie Patzke of Racine, Wis;  six Grandchildren, Taylor Holbus of Norcross, GA, Jennifer (Tony) Gutierrez of Racine, WI, Jody Rodriguez of Racine, WI,  Jim (Courtney) Schroeder of Muskego, WI,  Jackie (Andrew) Minatelli of Sanford, FL,  and Vaughn Holbus of Memphis, TN;  and seven Great Grandchildren.

Besides her Husband and Parents, she was also preceded in death by a Daughter, Beverly Mathis; Sister, Dorothy Jerstad; and Grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Schroeder and Sammy Holbus.

Sylvia Dunkerson

Sylvia A. Dunkerson, age 81, of Paris, TN, passed away Saturday May 21, 2016 at Benchmark Healthcare of Puryear, TN.

Graveside service 1:00PM Sunday May 29, 2016 at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery in Harrisburg, Arkansas with Mark Weston officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.

She was born September 26, 1934 in Harrisburg, Arkansas to the late George and Agnes Lillian Ellzey Deckelman.  On November 3, 1951 she married A.C. Dunkerson, he survives, Paris, TN.

Survived by a son: Mike (Betty) Dunkerson, Paris, TN; brothers: Donnie (Eva) Deckelman, Atwood, TN; grandchildren: Carly (Adam) Parke, Kelsey (Jeremy) Blanchard; great-grandchildren: Millie Lane Parke and Maxwell Brendan Parke, and  brother-in-law: Roy Webb, Millington, TN.

Preceded by sisters: Mary Thompson, Laverne Rush, Joy Webb; brothers: Dude Deckelman, Bud Deckelman and Bob Deckelman.

Mrs. Dunkerson was a member of the Church of Christ. She dedicated her life to her family and was known for her cooking.

Clara Elizabeth Paschall

Clara Elizabeth Paschall, age 79, of Jackson, Tenn, formerly of Henry County, died Saturday, May 21, 2016, at NHC Somerville in Somerville, Tenn. 

She was married in June of 1961 to Morris Paschall and he preceded in death on July 6, 1985.   She was a homemaker and enjoyed her Grandchildren very much.

Mrs. Paschall was born October 15, 1936 in Walters, OK to the late Abraham Lincoln Gore and the late Nannie Elizabeth Abney Gore.

She is survived by her  two Daughters,  Gena (Nick) Salvaggio of Bartlett, Tenn, and Debra (Jamie) Barnes of Jackson, Tenn;  one Son, Morris (Heather) Paschall of Santa Rosa, Calif;  two Sisters, Essie White of California, and Mary Broyles of Winthrop, Ark;  four Grandchildren, Reagan (Clayton) Horton,  Ryan Barnes,  Madigan Paschall,  and Jillian Paschall;  one Great Grandchild, Jessa Horton; and Several Nieces and Nephews.

Besides her Husband and Parents, she was also preceded in death by a Daughter in infancy, Crystal Renee Paschall; Sister, Bobby Sage; and a Brother, Gene Gore.

James Murel Mead

James Murel Mead, age 77, of Springville, Tenn., died Friday, May 20, 2016, at his residence. 

Born July 6, 1938, in Hamlin, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Edward Mead and the late Anna L. Lucas Mead. He married Martha Jane Sanders Mead December 23, 1974, who preceded in death July 23, 2008. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator from Memphis Stone Co., who attended the Henry County Tabernacle and loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include: Three Daughters, Betty (Randy) Lambert of Springville, Tenn., Rita Sowell of Paris, Tenn., Delta (Kenny) Miller of Wilkesboro, N.C.; Four Sons, Ricky (Kelli) Odom of Springville, Tenn., James Mark (Brenda)  Mead of Mansfield, Tenn., Brian (Nettie) Mead of Wilkesboro, N.C., Steve (Theva) Mead of Wilkesboro, N.C.; One Sister, Ethel Hoosier of Hamlin, W. James “Jim” Hamilton

James “Jim” Hamilton, age 74, of Buchanan, Tenn., died Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn. 

Jim was an active member of Sulphur Well Church of Christ.   He was a retired mechanical engineer for Emerson Electric in Paris, TN and a member of the Springville Masonic Lodge.   Jim enjoyed hunting and helping others in any way anytime he could.

He was born August 9, 1941 in Buchanan, TN to the late William Julius Hamilton and the late Mary Ethel Wimberley Hamilton.

Jim was married on January 13, 1962 to Pamela "Pam" Diggs Hamilton of Buchanan and she survives.  He is also survived by his one Daughter,  Tina (Walter) Proctor of Murray, Ky;  two Sons,  Bill (Kimmy) Hamilton of Leesburg, Fla, and Matt (Andrea) Hamilton of Atlanta, Ga;  six Grandchildren, Nikki (Cody) Sanders, Alex Hamilton, J.D. Hamilton,  Logan Proctor, Payton Proctor, and Nell-Lea Swords; and one Great Grandchild, Braelyn Sanders.

Bonnie Wiles

Bonnie Kemp Wiles, age 79, of Paris, Tenn, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Murray Calloway Co. Hospital in Murray, Ky. 

She was a Baptist in faith and loved the outdoors and gardening.   She formerly worked at Celotex and retired from Wiles Welding in Paris.

Bonnie was born October 17, 1936 in Gleason, TN to the late James Shobe "Jim" Kemp and the late Lillie Mae Chapman Kemp.

She married June 8, 1956 to Jimmie Russell "Pappy" Wiles and he preceded in death on December 17, 2005.  She is survived by her two Daughters,  Karon Wiles of Huntsville, Ala, and Lisa Kay Fitzsimmons of Paris, Tenn;  two Sons,  Ralph (Debbie) Wiles of Paris, Tenn, and Joseph R. "Rusty" (Lisa) Wiles of Springville, Tenn;  one Sister, Ramona Washburn of McKenzie, Tenn;  two Brothers,  John Thomas Kemp of McKenzie, Tenn, and Jerry Chapman (Shirley) Kemp of Paris, Tenn;  seven Grandchildren,  Brandy (Greg) Taylor, Kasey (Ryan) Muench, Jarrod Fitzsimmons, Brittany (Casey) Causey, Collins (Jazmine) Wiles, Randi Wiles, and Allie Wiles;  five Great Grandchildren,  Bailey Kathron Taylor, Christian Taylor, Liam Cole Causey, Lincoln Joseph Wiles, and Aubrey Caroline Muench.

Mary Lou Lemonds

Mary Lou Hart Lemonds, age 71,  of Smyrna, TN formerly of Paris, TN passed away Tuesday May 17, 2016 at Diversicare of Smyrna.

Funeral service 11:00AM Saturday May 21, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Gary Collier officiating, burial will follow at Walker Cemetery.

Visitation 4:00 - 7:00PM Friday and after 9:00AM Saturday.

She  was born May 19, 1944 in Paris, TN to the late Fred and Lavinia Inez Smith Hart.  On August 7, 1965 she married William Darrell Lemonds, he preceded December 3, 2008.

Survived by sons: David Lemonds, Dayton, OH, Chris Lemonds, Murfreesboro, TN; sisters: Betty Jean George, Stuarts Draft, VA, Patty Pigioli, Florida; brother: Fred Hart, Virginia and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and special friends.

Mary was a very devoted mother.  She attended the Community of Christ  Church while in Paris and the Church of the Nazarene in Virginia.

William "Bill" Pullen

William Vickery “Bill” Pullen, age 75, of Cottage Grove, Tenn., died Sunday, May 15, 2016, at his residence in Cottage Grove, Tenn. 

Bill was a Founding Member of the Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department and served as the Fire Chief for many years.  He was very active with the Cottage Grove Freedom Festival on the 4th of July each year. He formerly worked at Emerson Electric Co. for several years and was also a self employed machinist.

Bill was born May 11, 1941 in Paris, TN to the late Barton Pullen and the late Mary Vickery Pullen.

He was married on December 26, 1962 to June Wilson Pullen of Cottage Grove and she survives.  He is also survived by his one Son,  Eric (Debra) Pullen of Memphis, Tenn;  two Sisters, Carol Stigall of Paris, Tenn, and Ann (Jim) Stromecky of Huntsville, Ala;  one Brother,  George Carlton Pullen of Paris, Tenn;  four Grandchildren,  Mickey (Vickey) Pullen, Jon Pullen, Lee (Dena) Heafner, and Nathan Heafner;  four Great Grandchildren, Brent Pullen,  Payson Heafner,  Addyson Heafner, and  Lucy Clare Heafner;  Several Nieces and Nephews;  Sister-in-law, Nina (Wayne) Cotton;  two Brother-In-Laws, Lowell (Debbie) Wilson, and David (Karen) Wilson;  and Very Special Caregivers, Elizabeth Ray & Family, Cassie Cowan, Jean Fulks, and TN Quality Hospice.

Don Thompson

Donald  Ray “Don” Thompson, age 74, of Paris, Tenn., died Thursday, May 12, 2016, at his residence in Paris, Tenn. 

He was a retired Safety Supervisor for Lehman Roberts Asphalt & Paving in Memphis, TN and was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.

Don was born on July 9, 1941, in Fulton, KY, to his father, the late John Thompson  and mother,  Earline Brown Thompson of Somerville, SC.

Don was married December 13, 1961 to Barbara Raymer Thompson of Paris, TN, who survives.  Besides  his wife, and  mother,  he is survived by two Sons, Jeffery "Jeff" (Sheryl) Thompson of Paris, Tenn., and Keith (Samantha) Thompson of Paris, Tenn.; one Sister, Brenda (Mike) Lykins of South Carolina; one Brother, Richard Thompson of Fulton, Ky.; two Grandchildren, Jeffery Thompson, Jr. of Mississippi, and Ryan Thompson of Paris, TN; one Great-grandchild, Jayden Thompson;  Mother-in-law, Dot Raymer of Paris, TN;  Brother-in-law, Chuck (Peggy) Raymer of Springville, TN; and Several Nieces and Nephews.

Sadie Pflueger

Sadie Nell Ward Pflueger, age 82, passed away quietly at her home May 11, 2016.

Born August 17, 1933, in Buchanan, she was the daughter of the late John C. Ward and the late Lille Mae Patterson Ward.

She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church, and formerly worked at The Parisian newspaper, Chesemore Clinic, Holley Carburetor Plant, and Higgs and Matthews in Paris. Many people will remember her as a smiling, friendly face in the Kroger Deli where she worked until her retirement in 2011.  Ms. Pflueger enjoyed playing music, singing, dancing, and most of all, her family.  She also enjoyed supporting the Helping Hands Radio Auction and providing food for her church’s benevolent ministry.

Survivors include: three daughters:  Carol (Doug) Hutson of Paris, Beverly (Steve) Herndon of Camden, TN and Gail (Randy) Fowler of Cookeville, TN;  her longtime companion, Lonnie Heath and his family of Paris; four grandchildren, Melissa (Brad) Heath of Paris, Rachel (Chris) Presson of Paris, and Kyle and Resa Herndon, both of Camden; two great grandchildren, Hannah and Taylor Presson.

Sadie’s extended family includes: grandchildren, Bo Fowler, Jessica (Billy) Pugh; Great Grandchildren, Stephanie (Joe) Henson, Gabe and Eli Fowler, Evan, Jared and Jesse James Pugh, and a great great granddaughter, Lilly Kate Henson.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Pflueger was preceded in death by her brothers, J.C. Ward and Billy Frank Ward; and Robert L. Pflueger, her former husband who preceded her in death on September 12, 1993.

Jeff Davis

Jeffrey Thomas “Jeff” Davis, age 51, of Paris, Tenn., died Monday, May  9, 2016, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn. 

He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.   Jeff was a former truck driver and worked in the Trucking Brokerage Business for several years.   He was also a former farmer with his father on the family farm.   Jeff enjoyed music, watching movies, and playing his guitar and he loved his dogs.

He was born September 25, 1964 in Paris, TN to Billy Tom Davis who preceded in death and Bobbie Jo Ridgway Davis of Paris, TN.

He was married September 20, 2003 to Judy Smith Davis and she survives.  Besides his Wife and Mother, he is also survived by his one Step-Daughter, Amy Ledford of Paris, Tenn;  one Step-Son, Billy Clayton of Paris, Tenn;  one Sister,  Jennifer Ann Davis of Camden, Tenn; one Brother, Danny (Tammy) Davis of Leesburg, Va;  three Step-Grandchildren, Joseph Robertson, Daniel Clayton, and K.K. Whittier; two Nieces, Miranda McNutt, and Adrianne McNutt and Fiance Dustin Foust;  and seven Great Nieces and Nephews, Blake Barrett, Bradley Barrett, Briley Barrett, Rebecca McNutt, Taylor Warden, Keirra Jo Foust, and Kylee Foust.

Besides his Father, Jeff was also preceded in death by a sister, Sheilah Davis.

Gervis Paschall

Gervis “Jack” Paschall, age 87, of Puryear, Tenn., died Monday, May  9, 2016, at Paris Healthcare & Rehab Center in Paris, Tenn. 

He was a member of North Fork Baptist Church for over 50 years.   Gervis was a retired security guard for Murray Guard at Emerson Electric.   He formerly managed Humphrey's Loose Leaf Tabacco Floor in Mayfield, KY and farmed for many years.

Gervis was born September 13, 1928 in Puryear, TN to the late Dallas Mason Paschall and the late Lottie May Ray Paschall.

He was first married on October 26, 1946 to Mary Virginia Stuber Paschall and she preceded in death September 10, 2004.  He was then married to Sarah Anzonetta Paschall February 9, 2011 and she preceded in death August 11, 2014.

He is survived by his three Daughters,  Glenda (Joe) Lankford of Paris, Tenn,  Anne (Roy) Paschall of Puryear, Tenn, and Judy (Rickie) Orr of Puryear, Tenn;  one Step-son survives locally, Noel (Patti) Hatman of Paris, Tenn;  Sister-in-law, Margaret Ham of Manchester, TN;  six Grandchildren, Melissa (Kevin) Scott, Clint (Kelly) Paschall, Russ (Wendy) Orr, Jamie (Scarlet) Orr, Michelle (Will) Arnold, and John (Amanda) Lankford; and 10 Great Grandchildren.

Besides his Parents and Wives, he was also preceded in death by a Sister, Elise and her Husband Albert Cook.

Martha Joy Joyner

Martha Joy Joyner, age 72, of Paris, Tenn., died Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Paris Healthcare & Rehab Center in Paris, Tenn. 

 

She was a Retired Pipefitter with Standard Oil in Richmond, CA.   She enjoyed making porcelin dolls, reading, watching black and white movies and she also loved vacations.

 

She was born July 20, 1943 in Paris, TN to the late Douglas Bratton and the late Lillian Clark Bratton.

 

She is survived by her  one Daughter, Cheryl (Jim) Christopher of Benicia, Calif; two Sons, Terry (Donna) Joyner of Tracy, Calif, and John Joyner of Paris, Tenn;  two Brothers,  Junior (Sue) Bratton of Mansfield, Tenn, and  Robert Gene (Linda) Bratton of Paris, Tenn; and one Grandson, Jacob Joyner and Special Friend Miss Alex Van Zuiden of Stockton, CA.

Donie Sutton

Donie Olenza Sutton, age 94, of Mansfield, Tenn., died Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris, Tenn. 

She was a member of First Assembly of God in Paris.  She was a homemaker and farmer and loved her Grandchildren very much.

Mrs. Sutton was born November 27, 1921 in Lake City, Ark to the late George Sawyer and the late Lottie Lewis Sawyer.

She was married on April 14, 1940 to John H. Sutton, who preceded her in death on March 23, 1993.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sue (Eugene) Lambert of Mansfield, Tenn., Andrea Dickerson of Mesa, Ariz., and Judy (Bob) Kretzschmar of Garden City, Ala.; Eight Grandchildren; Thirteen Great Grandchildren; and Seven Great-Great Grandchildren.    

Besides her Husband and Parents, she was also preceded in death by one Son, Johnie Leroy Sutton;  two Sisters; and three Brothers.

Jim Nance

James Lowell "Jim" Nance, Jr., age 65, of Puryear, Tenn., died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn.

Born July 28, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son the late James Lowell Nance, Sr. and the late Betty Blair Nance.

Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran who received a Purple Heart and was a member of the Combat Vets Association Motorcycle Club.   He was the former owner and operator of "Izonu" (Eyes on You) Barber Shop and also Ringmaster Tattoo both in Paris.

He is survived by his three sons,  Stephen (Heather) Nance of Dresden, Tenn., Dustin Bynum of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Jimmy Russell of Nashville, Tenn.;  Two Daughters,  Hope (Troy) Saylors of Nashville, Tenn. and J.J. Nance of Tennessee;  Four Brothers, Michael (Marci) Nance of Nashville, Tenn., Jerry (Tami) Nance of Paris, Tenn., David Nance of Paris, Tenn. and Bill Nance of Puryear, Tenn;  three grandchildren,  Spencer Saylors, Peyton Nix and Preslie Nix; and one Uncle, Ed Blair of South Bend, Indiana.  

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John Nance.

Clyde Collins

Clyde Wesley Collins is reunited with his wife, Frances Lynn Collins, after almost 14 years of separation. Together again at last!

 Clyde Wesley Collins, 79,(formerly of Lombard, Illinois) passed away in his sleep on Thursday, April 28th, 2016 in Paris Tennessee.

He was born on June 5th, 1936 to M.C and Sallie (Chesser) Collins of Tiptonville, Tennessee. He married Frances Lynn Marchbanks on January 14th, 1957.

Sylvia Athalie Frensley

Sylvia Athalie Herrin Frensley, slipped gently into the arms of Jesus Thursday, April 28, 2016. She was born December 23, 1926 to Joe "Jack" Herrin and Ruby Elmore Herrin of Camden, TN who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her brother Joe Herrin, and two sisters, Ethelene Bennett and Doris Brewer. Another brother and sister died in early childhood.

She was married to Thomas Frensley on September 10, 1949 in Corinth, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2004. She is survived by her children: Joe Frensley, Jeanne (Dale) O'Daniel, and Lisa Salmon. Her grandchildren: Phillip (Tara) O'Daniel, Kurt and John Thomas Salmon, and two great grandchildren, Ashton and Averie O'Daniel. She was loved by many members of her church. Camden United Pentecostal, who called her Moma. She is also survived by one sister in love, Elaine Herrin, and one brother in love, Dorris Allison, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Sylvia worked at Salant and Salant and Genesco, but after moving to Poplar Bluff, Missouri in 1966 became a full time homemaker. She was fortunate to keep her grandchildren and great grandchildren until they reached school age. She enjoyed cross stitching, reading (She read the complete KJV Bible) and southern gospel singing and attended many gospel music concerts, and attending church and church activities with the Keenagers.

She was a member of the Camden First United Pentecostal church where she has faithfully attended the past three years. Before then she was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist church where she was a sunday school teacher, former treasurer and member of several committees.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, April 30, from 4 until 7, at McEvoy Funeral Home, and the homegoing service on Sunday, May 1 at 2:00 at McEvoy. She will be buried in the Pleasant Hill UMC church cemetery in Henry County.

Kathlene Chandler Ferrell

Kathlene Chandler Ferrell, age 95, of Apopka, FL ,formerly of Henry County, TN, died April 27, 2016 at the Sunbelt Nursing Home in Apopka, FL.

Kathlene was a member of the Apopka Church of Christ.  During her career she worked as a teacher and librarian.

She was a loving wife of O.C. Ferrell, Sr. who departed in March of 2000 and she is survived by her son and his wife, O.C. and Linda Ferrell of Nashville, TN; a grandson, James C. Ferrell and a great grandson, George C. Ferrell of Houston, TX.   Kathlene is also survived by her Sister-in-Law, Mary Ann Chandler of Portland, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Avie and Riley Chandler; her brothers , Sedrick and his wife Bea Chandler, Bill Chandler, Robert Chandler; and sister, Joy and her husband John Anderson.

Kathlene had a very robust and fulfilling life, spending nearly the last 38 years retired, enjoying families and friends, and making lifelong friendships along the way.  She and O.C. traveled around the U.S. and internationally and never met a stranger.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN.   Visitation will be Saturday April 30, 2016 from 10 - 11 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home with the Funeral Service at 11:00 am Saturday April 30, 2016 at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home. 

Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.

Luellen French

Luellen “Boots” French, age 85, of Mansfield, Tenn., died Sunday, April 24, 2016, at her residence in Mansfield, Tenn. 

She attended Spring Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  She enjoyed visiting thrift stores and was known as "Granny" everyone.

Luellen was born October 13, 1930 in Grantsville, WV to the late Lester Richards and the late Willa Ruth Wilson Richards.

She was married on August 9, 1952 to John William French and he preceded in death February 25, 1995.  She is survived by her five Daughters,  Deanna  Running of Mansfield, Tenn,  Ada Buie of Mansfield, Tenn,  Debbie O'Grady & friend Jerry Butcher of Garrettsville, Ohio,  Beverly Canady of Springville, Tenn, and Roxanne (Gary) Fisher of Springville, Tenn;  one Step-Son,  Gary (Shirley) French of Paris, Tenn;  one Sister-in-law, Robbie Jean “Tutti” French of Paris, TN;  10 Grandchildren;  11 Great Grandchildren; and Several Nieces and Nephews.        

Besides her Husband and Parents, she was also preceded in death by a Daughter, Wilma Sue French; One Sister; and Three Brothers. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 12 – 2 pm Thursday, April 28, 2016.   The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 28, 2016.  Ronnie McClure will officiate and family members will serve as Pallbearers.

Interment will be at Henry Co. Tabernacle Cemetery in Springville, Tenn.
