Jason Dunlap

Jason Dunlap, age 35, of Buchanan, Tenn., died Saturday, December 26, 2015, at his residence in Buchanan, Tenn.  A 1999 Henry County High School graduate, he was a self-employed horse farrier & operated Dunlap Deer Processing in Paris, Tenn. Besides his family he enjoyed hunting, fishing, & horseback riding.

He is survived by his wife Britany Nance of Buchanan, Tenn.  He is also survived by one daughter, Taylor Dunlap of Dyer, Tenn.; one son, Sterlyn Dunlap of Buchanan, Tenn.; parents Pam & Kevin McRee of Pike Road, Ala.; one sister, Megan (Mike) Stevens of Bartlett, Tenn.; two brothers, Justin McRee of Pike Road, Ala.; and Matthew McRee of Pike Road, Ala.       

He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy Duane Dunlap; grandparents, Rufus Dunlap, Jr., Jerry McRee, Aubon Hutchens, and Mary Hutchens.; and great-grandfather, Otis Enoch.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. - P.O. Box 788, Paris, Tenn., where visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2015, and from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015.  Funeral service will be at LeDon of Chapel Ridgeway Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015.

Bob Bryant will officiate. 

Interment will be at New Beaverdam Cemetery in Buchanan, Tenn.

Roy Dean Mowell

Roy Dean Mowell, Sr., age 78, of Buchanan, Tenn., died Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn.

He was a former coal miner in Murdock, IL and was also a former school bus driver in Champaign, IL.   He enjoyed fishing and playing cards and was a US Navy veteran.

Roy was born April 22, 1937 in Sidney, IL to late Raphael Mowell and the late Ruth Ward Saathoff.

He is survived by his  Two Daughters,  Julie (Brian) Goff of Buchanan, Tenn,  Angela (Wesley) Reinhold of Midland, Texas;  One Son,  Roy (Bobbie) Mowell Jr. of Paris, Tenn;  Two Sisters,  Ina Billman of Tolono, Ill,  Kay Whitmore of Tolono, Ill;  One Brother,  Ray Mowell of Tampa, Fla;   Grandchildren,  Virgil Goff,  Tanner Goff, Savannah Myers, Neako O'Dell, Cayden O'Dell,  Julian Culp, Grace Culp, and  Peyton Mowell. 

Besides his parents, Roy was also preceded in death by a Sister, Nancy Wilkins. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bridge of Hope Church,  2320 Lakeway Circle, Paris, TN, 38242 at 6:00 pm Tuesday December 29, 2015 with Eric Kelleher officiating.


Frances Mason

Frances Margaret Mason, age 93, of Paris, Tenn., died Monday, December 21, 2015, at Paris Healthcare & Rehab Center in Paris, Tenn. 

She was a Methodist and retired from Xerox Corp. in LeGrange, IL.    She loved fishing, and her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.   She also loved giving to others and she made people laugh.

She was born December 8, 1922 in Jonesboro, IL to the late Jesse Mixen and the late Edna Mixen.

Frances was married to Eddie Mason and he preceded in death.

She is survived by her  Two Daughters,  Donna Francine Phillips of Paris, Tenn,  and Carolyn Sue McElligott of Hodgkins, IL;  One Sister,  Martha Ozman of IL;   Grandchildren,  Richard Daly Jr., Keith D. Daly,  Amy N. Butler, and Melvin Phillips III;  and Great Grandchildren,  Lathan Allison, Piper Phillips,  Alleigh Butler,  Courtney Daly,  Peton King, Addisyn King,  Willow Phillips, and Lincoln Phillips.

Besides her Husband and Parents, she was also preceded in death by a Sons, Charles Lee Woods and Donald Wayne Woods, Jr.;  Sisters,  Edna Peters, Mary McNeely, Helen Mason, and Anna Goodman; and Brothers,  Charles Mixen,  and Henry Mixen. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 12 pm – 2 pm Sunday, December 27, 2015.    The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 27, 2015. 

Joe Page will officiate.   Pallbearers will be Richard Daly Jr., Keith D. Daly, Melvin Phillips III, and Lathan Allison.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, TN. 

Mike Reynolds

Robert Michael “Mike” Reynolds, age 56, of Paris, Tenn., died Friday, December 18, 2015, at his residence in Paris, Tenn. 

Mike worked at Furniture Exchange since he was 16. He co-owned and operated the business with his father for 10 years prior to his father's death. Mike has been sole owner and operator since 2011.  He was a Tennessee Volunteer and New York Jets fan, but his passion was St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

He was born June 1, 1959 in Paris, TN to the late Edward "Ed" Lee Reynolds and the late Evelyn Lois Doughty Reynolds.

He is survived by his wife Linda Kay Dillard Reynolds of Paris, TN;  One Daughter,  Kathryn "Katie" Leigh (Baldo) Hernandez of Paris, Tenn;  One Son,   Matthew Lee Reynolds of Asheville, N.C.;  and One Brother,   Eddie (Ed Jones) Reynolds of Palo Alto, Calif.       

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Tuesday, December 22, 2015.    The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 7:00 pm Tuesday, December 22, 2015.   Mark and Vicki Snyder will  officiate. 

Cremation will follow the Service.

Teresa Douglas

Teresa Kay Douglas, age 51, of Cottage Grove, Tenn., died Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Paris, Tenn. 

She was a truck driver for Doyle Sims & Sons in Gleason, TN and she graduated from Palmersville High School.

Teresa was born November 3, 1964 in McKenzie, TN to the late Carroll McDaniel and Jean Neeley McDaniel of Cottage Grove, TN.

Besides her mother Jean McDaniel, she is also survived by her  One Daughter,  Marissa Douglas Hall of Big Sandy, Tenn;  One Son,  Justin McDaniel of Cottage Grove, Tenn;  One Sister,  Shirley Blevins of Florence, Ala;  Two Brothers,  Foster McDaniel of Camden, Tenn,  Delbert (Jackie) McDaniel of Cottage Grove, Tenn;  and Three Grandchildren, Serenity Douglas,  Kiera Hall, and Olivia Hall       

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 11 am – 1 pm Wednesday, December 23, 2015.    The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 23, 2015.

Freddie McDaniel will officiate.   Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers.   

Interment will be at New Bethel Cemetery in Henry, Tenn.

Lorene Ashby

Lorene Woods Ashby, age 93, of Buchanan, Tenn., died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at her residence in Buchanan. She was the widow of Harold Ashby.

She was the daughter of the late William Woods and the late Evie Lindsey Woods.

Lorene was member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church for 35 years where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was a Gideon who loved her church family, gospel music and working in her flower beds. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady and Henry Co. Medical Center for many years.

She is survived by her Daughter-Sharon (Eric) Asher of Buchanan, Tenn.; Son-James (Gladys) Ashby of Ohio; Grandchildren: Andrea Ashby, Regina Ashby, Jennifer Ashby, James (Stephanie) Ashby, Stacey (Mike) Henderson and Deborah (Mark Kulesza) Ashby; 13 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren.    

Lorene also leaves her special care-givers and friends: Cristie Mason, Jessica Duffy, Jameshia Tharpe and Linda Fillingim.

A Graveside Service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 11:00 AM Monday, December 21, 2015, with Randy Gean officiating.  Interment will follow.

Mary Lou Colvin

Mary Lou Colvin, age 82 of Paris, TN, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at her residence in Paris.

No service is scheduled at this time.

She was born July 15, 1933 in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska to the late Ralph and Geneva A. McFarland Geis.  On February 17, 1952 she married Gerald Swenson, he preceded April 17, 1978.  On August 8, 1988 she married Gerald Colvin, he preceded September 19, 2009.

Survived by step-daughters: Cheryl (Bob) Evans, Plano, TX, Cyndi (Scott) Morris, Paris, TN; step-sons: Mark Colvin, Colorado Springs, CO, Kevin (Michelle) Colvin, Detroit, MI; sisters: Jean (Glen) Putnam, Sheridan, WY, Barbara (Leroy) Vagneur, Durango, CO, Sharron (John) Foos, Gering, NE; brothers: Greg (Phil) Geis, Loveland, CO, Neale (Sue) Geis, Colorado Springs, CO; step-grandchildren: Jenna French, Katelyn Morris, Autumn Morris, Chris Trull, Dawn Martin, Kevin Colvin, Jr., Christi DeHuff; step-great-grandchildren: Corey and Avery Martin, Drake DeHuff and Londyn French.

Mrs. Colvin was a member of the First United Methodist Church.


Ronnie Cole

Ronnie Cole, age 57, of Paris, Tenn., died Monday, December 14, 2015, in Paris, Tenn. 

 

He was a Baptist in faith and was presently working at Henry County Hardwoods.    He formerly worked at McCartney Produce Company and B & D Trucking.    Ronnie loved to fish, play guitar and enjoyed watching sports.    He also served as a US Army Veteran.

 

He was born May 16, 1958 in Paris, TN to the late Roy Lee Cole and Janie Buie Cole Underwood of Paris, TN.   He is also survived by his  One Daughter,  Amanda Cole & fiance' Michael Roberts of Puryear, Tenn;  One Son,  David (Nicole) Cole of Paris, Tenn;  Four Sisters,  Carol (Danny) Clark of Paris, Tenn,  Rebecca (Keith) Turner of Huntingdon, Tenn,  Annette (Billy) Frampton of Paris, Tenn,  Teresa Cole of Paris, Tenn;  Three Brothers,  Michael Ray (Carolyn) Cole of Puryear, Tenn,  Bubba Cole & friend Weebee Robinson of Paris, Tenn,  Gary Cole of Buchanan, Tenn;  Five Grandchildren,  Alisjsha “Possum” Cole, Olyvia Cole, Mallory Cole, Aubree “Bug” Cole and  Briley “Peanut” Cole;  And Several Nieces and Nephews.           

 

Besides his father, he was also preceded in death by a Brother, Jody Cole.

Rev. Richard Dakin and Rev. Latricia Trull will officiate.    Pallbearers will be Melvin Nolen, Mickey Thurmond, Michael Roberts, Gene Stanley, Brian McCadams, and David Crowder.   His Co-workers from Henry County Hardwoods will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

 

Interment will be at Shady Grove Cemetery in Paris, Tenn.

Carey Lynn Lockhart

Carey Lynn Lockard, age 40, of Paris, Tenn., died Sunday, December 13, 2015, at his residence in Paris, Tenn. 

Lynn was a truck driver for several years.    He served in the National Guard and was an avid motorcycle rider.    He formerly worked at Tosh Farms where he was a diesel mechanic.

He was born March 17, 1975 to the late Carey Oran Lockard and the late Fredia Gail Hart Lockard.

He was married April 25, 2009 to Angela Dawn Garner Lockard and she survives.   He is also survived by his  Two Daughters,  Cheyenne O'Daniel of Paris, Tenn,  Heather Simpson of Paris, Tenn;  One Sister,  Julie (Jerimiah) James of Trenton, Tenn;  3 Sister-in-laws;  3 Brother-in-laws;  Niece,  Shanoa James;  Mother-in-law,  Jimmie Sue (Bama) Boutwell of Paris, TN;   Special Friends,  James & Laura Collins, Trent & Paige Boren, Jason Younger and many other riding friends.

Lynn was also preceded in death by One Sister in infancy.

He is to be cremated with a Celebration of Life Service held at a later date.

George Ingle

George Wallace Ingle, age 83, of Paris, Tenn., died Monday, December 14, 2015, at his residence in Paris, Tenn.

He was a Presbyterian and a building contractor.    He was the former owner and developer of Mansard Island Resort.    He also was the Owner and Operator of Lakeway Auto Sales for 37 years.   George was a US Army Korean War Veteran.    He was a self-taught musician and loved music.

George was born June 23, 1932 in Bruceton, TN to the late George McDowell Ingle and the late Era Dee VanCleave Ingle.

He was married January 1, 1955 to Frances Cary Ingle and she survives.   He is also survived by his Two Daughters,  Marlene (Randy) Spencer of Paris, Tenn,  Debra (Scott) Bohn of Paris, Tenn;  One Son,  David (Pam) Ingle of Paris, Tenn;  One Sister,  Mildred Edwards of St. Louis, Mo;  One Brother,  Frank (Marsha) Ingle of Hammond, Ind;  Four Grandchildren, Amanda Ingle and fiancé Paul Lenski of Knoxville, TN,  Katie (Ryan) Treece of Newbern, TN,  Elizabeth Cook of Paris, TN, and Joshua Bohn of Paris, TN;  and One Great Grandchild,  Aidan Treece of Newbern, TN.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a Son, Danny Ingle;  Sister, Jane Freeman;  and Brother, Robert C. Ingle.

Mac McCurdy

Mac McCurdy, age 77 of Paris, died Monday Dec. 14th at HCMC. His body will be cremated and services will be scheduled at a later date.

Clovis Ables

Clovis Dean Ables, age 76, of Cottage Grove, Tenn., died Sunday, December 13, 2015, at Jackson Madison Co. Gen. Hosp. in Jackson, Tenn. 

Clovis was a member of Cottage Grove Baptist Church.    He was a School Bus Driver for 35 years for the Henry County School System.    He was also a Lifelong farmer and US Army Veteran and he enjoyed fishing.

He was born August 12, 1939 on Cottage Grove, TN to the late Virchel E. Ables and the late Virgie Hill Ables.

Clovis was married March 14, 1962 to Judy O'Daniel Ables and she survives.   He is also survived by his One Daughter,   Kristy (Howard) Powell of Cottage Grove, Tenn;  One Son,  Edwin (Brenda) Ables of Cottage Grove, Tenn;  One Sister,   JoAnn Venable of Paris, Tenn;  Two Brothers,   Thomas Vethro Ables of Cottage Grove, Tenn,   Elmo Ables of Martin, Tenn;   Grandchildren,  Daniel Powell,  Samantha (Josh) Warbritton,  Dallas Ables, and Dakota Ables;  and One Great Grandchild,  Brodie Warbritton.

Besides his parents, Clovis was also preceded in death by a Sister, Zelma Bradley;  2 Brothers in infancy;  and  a Great Grandchild, Bentley Warbritton.

Archie Polk Myers

Archie Polk Coats Myers, age 76, of Puryear, Tenn., died Sunday, December 13, 2015, at her residence in Puryear, Tenn. 

She Graduated from Puryear High School in 1958 and was a member of Farm Bureau and Woodmen of the World.   She also loved flowers and landscaping and enjoyed antiques and playing the Piano.

She was born November 1, 1939 in Puryear, TN to the late Claude Puron Coats and the late Viven Rusha  Paschall Coats.

Archie married Fred Hicks Myers February 7, 1961 and he preceded in death January 5, 1980. 

She is survived by her  One Daughter,  Cahuenga Dawn Myers of Puryear, Tenn;  One Son,  Jaquine Israel Myers of Puryear, Tenn;  and  Several Cousins. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St.,  Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 11 am – 2 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2015.    The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2015.

Interment will be at Mill Creek Cemetery in Puryear, Tenn.

Hershel Killebrew

Hershel Brooks Killebrew, age 89 of Paris, died Monday Dec.7th at his residence.

Mr. Killebrew attended Bethany Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of WWII. Hershel worked and retired after many years of service from Smith Electric Company formerly of Paris.

Visitation will be 5-7pm Friday Dec. 11th and after 9am on Saturday Dec. 12th until 10am at McEvoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery.

Kristi Townsend Allen

Kristi Townsend Allen, age 35 of Paris, died Monday December 7th at the Henry County Medical Center ER.

Her visitation will be Wednesday 4-7pm and Thursday Dec. 10th from 9am until service time at 11am at McEvoy Funeral home. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery.

Ron "Ponytail" Elliotte

Ron “Ponytail” Elliotte, age 69, of Paris, Tenn., died Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Vanderbilt Univ. Med. Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Ron owned and operated Elliotte's Knives & Crafts for many years. He was an avid knife collector and trader. He formerly owned Dell's Emporium Store in Paris with his mother.

He was born July 1, 1946 in Paris, TN to the late Luther Elliotte and the late Dell Loving Wright.

He was married May 25, 1996 to Sherry Colley Elliotte and she survives. He is also survived by his One Daughter, Rhonda Elliotte; 4 Step Children; and One Sister, Tootsie of McKenzie, TN.

Besides his Parents, he was also preceded in death by a Sister, Connie.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn.

He is to be cremated with a Memorial Service at a later date.

Carl Webber

Carl Frederick Weber, age 65, of Henry, Tenn., died Monday, December 7, 2015, at Vanderbilt Univ. Med. Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Carl Retired as a Lieutenant Commander after 23 years in the US Navy.    He was an avid deer hunter and avid weight lifter.

He was born April 15, 1950 in Greenville, MS to the late Carl Adolf Weber and the late Vera Mae Collins Weber.

Carl was married September 15, 2010 to Emily Smith Weber and she survives.   He is also survived by his  Daughter,  Rene (Mike) Humphrey of Benton, Miss;  Step Daughter,  Emily Anne Pollack of Philadelphia, Pa;  Three Step-Sons,  John Pender of Henry, Tenn,  Kurt Pollack of Oxford, Miss,  and Bailey Pollack of Oxford, Miss;  Three Grandchildren, Carl Michael Humphrey, Alex Humphrey, and Grace Humphrey;  And One Step-Grandchild, Zoe Shaff.

He is to be cremated, No Service is planned at this time. 

Carolyn Baker

Carolyn Hayes Baker, age 72, of Henry, Tenn., died Friday, December  4, 2015, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn.

She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and the American Assoc. of Business Women.   She was the owner and operator of Samcara Consultants for 19 years.

Carolyn was born February 27, 1943 in Parsons, TN to the  late Bob Hayes and the late Belle Alexander Hayes.

Carolyn married Samuel "Sammy" Baker February 25, 1982 and he survives.  She is also survived by her Three Sons, Tony(Debbie) Brown of Henry, Tenn.,  Deon (Dell) Crosser of Paris, Tenn.,  Casey (Nikki) Crosser of Henry, Tenn;  Two Step Daughters, Tina (Mark) Rawls of Paris, Tenn.,  Penny (Jerry) Gallimore of Dresden, Tenn.;  One Step Son, Jeff Baker of Henry, Tenn.;  Two Sisters, Shirley (Jessy) Collett of Decaturville, Tenn., Marie Gilbert of Darden, Tenn;  15 Grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by Two Sisters, Mildred Thomas, Betty Barham; Three Brothers, Robert Hayes, Jr., Dennis Ray Hayes, and Larry Wayne Hayes.

Dorothy Jean Priddy

Dorothy Jean Priddy, age 81, of Cottage Grove, Tenn., died Saturday, December 5, 2015, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. 

She was a former waitress in the Chicago area who enjoyed visiting Tunica, MS.   She was Baptist in faith.

She was born August 11, 1934 in Puryear, TN to the late Wayne McCuiston and the late Carolyn Lamb Hutchens.

Dorothy Jean is survived by her two Daughters,  Edna (Terry) Priddy Nolan of Cottage Grove, TN and Jo Ann (Dennis) Doweidt of Houston, Texas;   Five Grandchildren,   Chris (Jessica) Veazey,  Pat (Brandy) Veazey, Michael (Barbara) Doweidt, Robin (Jim) Zanoni, and  Mark (Dena) Doweidt;  and 11 Great-Grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Wayne Priddy and a sister in infancy.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 6 – 8 pm Monday December 7, 2015 and from 9 - 10:30 am Tuesday, December 8, 2015.    A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Walker Cemetery with Jess Hedges officiating.  Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Louis Davis

Louis Michael Davis, age 63, of Buchanan, Tenn., died Monday, November 30, 2015.

He was a US Navy Vietnam veteran and he worked in the concrete business before becoming disabled.    He loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.

He was born November 4, 1952 in Altamont, MO to the late Martin Dale Hunt and Phyllis Bergene Williams Hunt.

He is survived by his  One Daughter,  Tiffany (Jason) Smith of Henry, Tenn;  Grandchildren,  Trenton Smith, Sydney Smith, Matthew Smith, Destiny Smith, and Kurt Hawes;  Great Grandchild,  Gracie Ann Smith;  and Special Friends,  Keith Rogers, Bob Wallenweber,  and Edward Charles.

He is to be cremated.     There will be at Memorial Service at Bridge of Hope on Lakeway Circle in Paris at 2:00 pm Saturday, December  5, 2015.

Joseph Wilson

Joseph Medwick Wilson, age 75, of Lakeland, Fla., died Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla. 

Joseph was a  Methodist.  He retired from RCA in Memphis, TN and he loved flowers and making wood chimes.

He was born January 16, 1940 in Murray, KY to the late Bill Wilson and the late Myrtle Adams Cooper.

He is survived by his  One Daughter,  Denise Wetzel of Washington;  One Brother,  Dwain (Lowanna) Cooper of Cottage Grove, Tenn;  One Grandchild, Danny Bacon of Washington.

Christopher Daniel Owen, age 20, of Paris, Tenn., died Monday, November 30, 2015, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn. 

He was a 2014 Henry County High School Graduate and currently a Sophomore at UT Martin.

Norman Smith

Norman Smith , age 67 of Buchanan, TN passed away Tuesday December 1, 2015 at his home with his family and aided by HCMC Hospice.

He was born in Glasgow, MT to the late Arthur and Ardis Breitung Smith.  On April 29, 1972 he married Pamela Mason Smith, she survives, Buchanan, TN.

Survived by daughters: Jamie Boyd, Paris, TN, Gari (Gary) Harper, Rye, CO; son: Gregory (Cindi) Smith, Pueblo West, CO; grandchildren: Blaine Graham, Andrew Graham, Courtney New, Austin New, Luke Smith; brother: Roger (Stacey) Smith, Fayetteville, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded by a brother: Allan Wallace Smith.

Norm worked as an electrical technician for 40 years for Proctor & Gamble in Modesto, CA and Denmark Consultants in Cincinnati, OH.  He was an avid outdoorsman.

Virginia Johnson

Virginia H. Johnson, age 67  passed away Friday November 27, 2015 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Doug Davis

Doug Davis, age 80 of Paris, TN passed away Sunday November 29, 2015 at his daughter's residence.

He was born in Omaha, NE to the late Justis and Verna McKee Davis.  On October 9, 1959 he married Norma Myers Davis, she preceded May 10, 2004.

Survived by a daughter: Debra (Ronald) Clough, Paris, TN; grandchildren: William Douglas (Jodi) Sullivan, JoAnn Lynn Sullivan, Christina Amron Fountoglou, Doug Alan Clough; two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Larry Barger, age 73 of Paris, TN, passed away Friday November 27, 2015 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.

Mr. Barger attended Old Landmark Church, enjoyed his yard, flowers and gardening.  Larry loved his family and church family.  He worked and retired from Emerson Electric Company formerly of Paris.

Jean Harrin

Jean Ellen Herrin, age  86 of Paris, TN, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN.

She was born February 28, 1929 in Henry County, TN to the late Edgar L. and Ruby Cox Herrin.

Evelyn Odom Bowden


Evelyn Odom Bowden, age 68, of Cottage Grove, Tenn., died Friday, November 27, 2015, at her residence in Cottage Grove, Tenn. 

She worked at Henry County Medical Center for over 30 years.    She was a Church of Christ and she enjoyed her family and was a loving mother.

Evelyn was born July 5, 1947 in Paris, TN to the late Ovie Lanius Odom and the late Blanche Lily Routon Odom. 

She was married on April 30, 1964, to Robert Lee Bowden and he  survives.

Billy J. Osborne, Jr., age 44 of Buchanan, TN, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at his residence.

Billy was an avid Chicago Bears football fan who also enjoyed boating.  He really loved his family.

Charles Edward Taylor

Charles Edward Taylor, age 69, of Paris, Tenn., died Friday, November 20, 2015, at the VA Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. 

He attended Barrs Chapel Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam.  He was wounded 3 times and received the Purple Heart.   Charles graduated from Central High School in 1964.  He was employed most of his life by the A.C. and Montez Jackson and Ancel and Carol McDuffee families who loved and supported him very much.

He was born July 7, 1946 in Como, TN to the late Edward Ray “Boots” Taylor and the late Bessie Mai Alexander.

Charles is survived by his  One Daughter,  Angela Littleton of Jackson, Tenn;  One Son,  Dexter Williams of Chicago, Ill;  One Sister,  Dorothy A. Clark of Paris, Tenn;  Two Grandchildren, DeAndre Williams of Chicago, IL and Angelica Schwartz of Decatur, IL;  Four Great Grandchildren;  Nieces, Erica Clark and Shylamar Haley of Paris, TN;  Two Aunts, Mary Wilkins and Lola Banks of Paris, TN;  Uncle, Harold Alexander of College Point, NY;  and Many Cousins and Friends.

Wilton McKenzie

Wilton “PeeWee” McKenzie, age 83, of Paris, Tenn., died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Paris Healthcare & Rehab Center in Paris, Tenn. 

He was a member of Springville Church of Christ and he retired from Emerson Electric Co. after more than 30 years.

He was born September 7, 1932 in Big Sandy, TN to the late John Daniel McKenzie and the late Lillie Martin McKenzie. 

Wilton was married to Betty Watson McKenzie and she preceded in death.

He is survived by his  Three Nieces,  Shelia Glisson of Paris, TN,  Brenda (Gary) Pinson of Paris, TN,  Linda (Larry) Lantz of Milan, TN;  One Nephew,  Frank (Paula) Glisson of Mayfield, KY;  Great Nieces, Tiffany (Jeremy) Douglass and Marsha Lantz;  Great Nephews,  Ben Lantz & Austin Glisson.

Besides his Wife and Parents, he was also preceded in death by Two Sisters, Verba Glisson & Odessa Barnes.

Dorothea Susan Riordan, age 81, of Springville, Tenn., died Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where she was very active in various church groups and functions and she loved to read and do crossword puzzles.

Dorothea was born December 18, 1933 in Chicago, IL to the late William L. Gamble and the late Florence Baffa Gamble.

She is survived by her  One Daughter,  Susan (David) Caldwell of Springville, Tenn;  Three Sons,  William Riordan of Springville, Tenn,  Anthony (Shanon) Riordan of Paris, Tenn,  Eddie (Melissa Bills) Riordan of Paris, Tenn;    11 Grandchildren,  Tauryannah (Josh) Fortner, Jessica Riordan, Justine (Tyler) Bursey, Camille Caldwell,  Gabriella Bills, Josh Lefler,  Blake Flowers, Cameron Riordan, Ashton Riordan, Skylar Riordan, and Sofia Riordan;  Seven Great Grandchildren,   Aubrey Fortner, Emma Fortner, Brodie Fortner, Luke Fortner, Ivy Bursey, Byron Lefler, and Cindy Lefler. 

Besides her Parents, she was also preceded in death by a Son, Floyd Riordan;  and Three Sisters,  Doris Erb,  Jeanne Diamond, and Roberta Ditchie.

Jean Riley

Jean Smith Mitchell Riley, age 88, of Bartlett, Tenn., formerly of Paris, Tenn., died Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Spring Gate Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Memphis, Tenn. 

She was born on September 9, 1927, in Paris, Tenn., to the late Roy Gilbert Smith and the late Lorene Hilmus Smith. 

On April 29, 1950, she married Veston Warren “Pig” Mitchell, who preceded her in death on July 16, 1969.  On June 7, 1975, she married Bruce Allen Riley, who preceded her in death on January 2, 2005.  

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winona, MS., and a former member of First United Methodist Church in Paris, TN.  She retired from North Central Savings and Loan in Winona, MS.   Jean had been a bookkeeper in Paris, TN.   She was active in Sunday School Class, youth & children’s ministries and choir.   She graduated from Grove High School in 1945.   She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Colonial Dames.   She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of various bridge groups. 

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey "Jeff" (Anita) Mitchell of Bartlett, Tenn.; step daughter, Amber (Ron) Riley Mathews of Brandon, Miss.; and five grandchildren:  Cameron Mitchell, Amanda Mitchell, Ben Mitchell, Staci Cox, and Sheryl Morgan Cook.

Robert Woodrow Kilpatrick, age 66, of Paris, TN, passed away Monday November 16, 2015 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN.

He was born February 5, 1949 in Hickman, KY to the late Robert G. and Helen Kemp Kilpatrick.  On February 28, 1967 he married Linda Williams Kilpatrick, she survives Paris, TN.

Survived by a daughter: Amy (Kelly Don) Curd, Murray, KY; sons: Rob Kilpatrick, Paris, TN, Jamie (Amy) Kilpatrick, Burns, TN, Steven (Tonya) Kilpatrick, Paris, TN, Walter Kilpatrick, Paris, TN; sisters: Linda (Jimmy) Darnell, Wickliffe, KY, Reba Kilpatrick, Gary, IN, Glenda (Debbie Couch) Kilpatrick, Oakland, TN; brother: Larry Kilpatrick, Puryear, TN; grandchildren: Ben Kilpatrick, Weston McBride, Abbigale McBride, Houston, Elizabeth and Madeline Kilpatrick, Logan and Keaton Curd, Rachel and Isabella Kilpatrick, Logan Swor, Kirstyn and Rheagan Jones and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Mr. Kilpatrick was owner/director of Kilpatrick’s Child Care in Paris, TN and Apple Tree School in Murray, Ky. He was a former member of Puryear Baptist Church and a current member of Open Doors Community Church where he taught Sunday School at both churches. He was an active leader in addressing community needs; frequently he offered a warm meal, friendly conversation and God’s word and guidance. He was also an avid outdoorsman. He was a former member of Puryear Lions Club. He opened his home and his heart to many children throughout the years and raised many of them as his own.

Larry Wimberley

Mr. Larry Dale Wimberley of Paris, TN passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the age of 69. A Memorial visitation is scheduled from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with comments and prayer at the close.

Mr. Wimberley was born October 9, 1946 in Paris, TN to the late Raymond C. Wimberley and Lucille Berkley Wimberley. In 1969 he married Ellen C. Waldrop Wimberley.

He is survived by daughters; Nicole (Justin Taylor) Priddy of Paris, TN; Stacey (Gus) Knapp of AL; sons; Dale (Sandy) Wimberley of Verbena, AL; Gerald (Nathalie) Wimberley of Cookville, TN; Chris (E.J. Rogers) Wimberley of Paris , TN; Randy (Kathy) Overcast of Puryear, TN; brother; Ronald (Jan) Wimberley of Paris, TN; grandchildren; Tiffany Wimberley of Verbena, AL; John Witherspoon of Paris, TN; Alyson Priddy of Paris, TN; Sebastian Wimberley of Cookeville, TN.

Mr. Wimberley was a Baptist by faith. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving as a medic during Viet Nam. Larry worked and retired from Lowes in Paris. He loved fishing and enjoyed spending time with his family. Memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.
