Carol Evans

Carol Holcomb Evans, 72, of Paris died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017 at her home.

She was a member of West Paris Baptist Church.

Evans was retired and had operated a retail clothing store, The Style Shop, for many years in Paris along with her mother, the late Ethel Holcomb.

Surviving are her husband Terry L. Evans of Paris; two sons, Chris Evans (Allison) of Marion, Ky., and Bob Evans (Donna) of Paris; grandchildren, Adam Evans of Paris and Meredith Evans, Benjamin Evans and Elliot Evans, all of Marion, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Hargett Holcomb and Roy Clyde Holcomb; a sister, Joyce Crutcher; and two brothers, Bobby Holcomb and Donald Holcomb.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25 at McEvoy Funeral Home in Paris. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26 at the funeral home with her son, Chris, and Rev. David Combs officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m., until the funeral hour. Burial will be at Bevil Cemetery in Paris.

Memorial donations should take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Richard Vaughn

Mr. Richard Vaughn, 81, of Paris passed away Wednesday at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Vaughn
will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home in Union City. Burial will follow in Obion County
Memorial Gardens.

Sherry Cook

Sherry Cook, age 60 of Mansfield, TN passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at her residence. Her body is to be cremated and a memorial service will be announced soon.

Sherry Cook was born April 14, 1956 in Camden, Tennessee to the late James Calvin Crafton and the late Opal Mae Edwards Crafton. On July 19, 1980 she married David A. Cook who survives in Mansfield, Tennessee. She is also survived by a sister Juanita Carolyn (Dan) Keefer of Dixon, IL and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Sherry was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey Crafton and Wyley Crafton.

Mrs. Cook attended East Wood Church of Christ in Paris. She previously worked at McKenzie Banking Company and also Clifty Farms.

George Maynard Hohman

Mr. George Maynard Hohman age 79 of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Saturday February 18, 2017 at Paris Healthcare and Rehab. He is preceded in death by his parents William "Fay" Hohman and Beulah Johnston Hohman. George is survived by his wife: Jackye Marie Green Hohman of Paris, whom he married on January 26, 1958; two sons: Gregory (Shivani) Hohman, Van Nuys, California, Brian (Susan) Hohman, Quakertown, Pennsylvania; sister: Janet (James) LeBlanc, Widefield, Colorado; two brothers: William (Carol) Hohman, Peoria, Arizona, Edwin (Gloria) Hohman, Junction City, Kansas; and two grandchildren: Zachary and Trevor Hohman.

His memorial service is scheduled for 12:00 P.M. Saturday February 25, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home with family and friends conducting the service. Visitation is scheduled after 11:30 A.M. until service time at 12:00.

Mr. Hohman graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. His career was spent in the computer industry working for Sperry-Univac, Schlumberger, and Unisys Corporation of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Upon retiring in 1994, George was Director of Voice Products for Unisys. After moving to Paris, Tennessee in 1995, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and became Commander of the former local Flotilla 8-10.

Rian Evans

Rian Troy Evans, age 81, of Paris, TN, died Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Paris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Paris, TN.

Rian worked at McKee Supply in Paris for 11 years.  He was a member of the Paris Church of God of Prophecy.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and listening to Gospel music.

He was born July 31, 1935, in Big Sandy, TN, to the late James Elias Evans and the late Ronie Alice Evans.  

He is survived by one sister, Rita (James “Pinky”) Williams of Paris, TN; one brother,  Denton (Iva Lou) Evans of Paris, TN; three nieces, Alice (Scott) Massey, Terri (Jack) Bruce, and Suzanne Evans; and six nephews, Russell (Marcie) Evans, Tony (Beth) Evans, Larry (Brenda) Crowder, Randy (Linda) Crowder, David (Barbara) Crowder, and Kevin (Lisa) Williams.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Venita Evans; and a brother, James S. Evans.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 5 – 7 pm Tuesday, February 21, 2017, and at  the Paris Church of God of Prophecy on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, from 12 – 1pm.   The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the Paris Church of God of Prophecy, with Roger Smith officiating.   

Serving as pallbearers are Randy Cowder, David Crowder, Larry Crowder, Russell Evans, Tony Evans, and Kevin Williams.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, TN.

Judy Lindsey  Gammon

Judy Lindsey Gammon, age 65, of Old Hickory, TN, formerly of Henry County, died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at her residence.

Judy was an Elementary School Teacher for 38 years, retiring from Sandpiper Shores Elementary School in Boca Raton, FL.  She formerly taught in Waverly, and Bradford, TN as well as Independence, MO before moving to Florida.  She attended Christ Fellowship in West Palm Beach, FL and Hickory Hill Baptist in Mt. Juliet, TN.  She was devoutly religious and loved her large family where she was one of twelve.  In the last few years, she had enjoyed genealogy study and research and also tutoring a grandson.

Judy was born in the Henry County portion of McKenzie, TN on April 19, 1951 to the late Atlas A. Lindsey, Sr. and the late Lottierene Carter Lindsey. 

She was married on March 20, 2012 to James E. Gammon, Jr. and he survives of Old Hickory, TN.  She is also survived by one step-son, James Whitlow (Callie) Gammon of Mt. Juliet, TN; three sisters, Betty Conger of Paris, TN, Myra Hurst of Manchester, TN and Janice Clapper of Springfield, TN;  three brothers, Bobby Joe Lindsey of Bell Buckle, TN, David Linsey of Mansfield, TN and Roy Lindsey of Gallatin, TN; and two grandchildren, Greer Hadley Gammon and Webb Whitlow Gammon.

Besides her parents, Judy was also preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Harris, Jeanette Williams, and Jane Donnelly; and two brothers, Atlas A. Lindsey, Jr. and James Lindsey. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be Monday, February 20, 2017 from 4 – 7 pm and Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 10 – 11 am.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Whitener of Hickory Hill Baptist in Mt. Juliet officiating.

Burial will follow in VanDyke Church of Christ Cemetery south of Paris.

David Birmingham

David Lynn Birmingham, age 61, of Paris, TN, died Friday, February 17, 2017, in Paris, TN. 

David was a lifelong truck driver  who formerly drove for Three Rivers Trucking.  In 1979, he built and help run DavAnn  Group  Home on Trading Post Road here in Paris.  He attended West Wood Pentecostal Church of God.  He enjoyed working all the time at lots of different and helping others.

He was born April 15, 1955, in South Fulton, KY, to the late G.W. Birmingham and the late Allie May Campbell Birmingham York.

David was married July 6, 2016, to Naoma Pierce Birmingham, of Paris, TN, who survives.  Along with his wife, he is survived by two step-daughters, Jessica (Johnny) Stiles of Paris, TN, and Shana (Jerry) Vaughn of Mayfield, KY; one step-son, Christopher Norton and fiance, Nikki Colley both of Paris, TN; one brother, Gary Wayne Birmingham of Bardwell, KY; two half-brothers, Mark York of Paris, TN, and Randy Birmingham of Jackson, TN; four grandchildren, Austin Bratton, Nahaven Vaughn, Hayden Stiles, and Domanic Norton.  

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM Tuesday, February 21, 2017, with the funeral service on Tuesday at 6:30 PM at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home.  Joe Page will officiate.  Cremation will follow the service, then burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.

Mikki Williams

Former Henry Countian, Mikki Darlene Williams, age 54, of Bolivar, TN, died Friday, February 17, 2017, at Pleasant View Healthcare Center in Bolivar, TN.

Mikki formerly worked as a greeter at Walmart in Paris, TN.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was born February 12, 1963, in Paris, TN, to the late Larry Williams and the late Jenia Hart Williams.

She is survived by one sister, Rhonda (Eugene) Lowe; one niece, Haley Lowe of Paris, TN; one nephew, John Ross Lowe of Paris, TN; one great-nephew, Ethan Macie of Paris, TN; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Monday, February 20, 2017, with the funeral service Monday at 2:00 PM at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home.   Burial will follow in New Providence Cemetery in Hazel, KY.

William D. "Dale" Clayton

William D. "Dale" Clayton age 68 of Paris, TN passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his residence.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday February 20, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Collins of Henry New Life Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled after 11:00 A.M. on Monday prior to his service.

Pallbearers will be Rick Parker, Jerald Brown, Danny Joe Buie, Joseph Robertson, Ricky Moon, Tex Covey, Mike Grogan, and Codie Archie.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dave Langford, Daniel Clayton and Mitch Moon.

He was born February 7, 1949 in Henry County, TN to the late Wallace J. and Dorothy Mae Nimmo Clayton.

Survived by a daughter: Amy Cooper, Paris, TN; son: William "Billy" Dale Clayton, Paris, TN; sisters: Mary Ann Taylor, Paris, TN, Sarah Joyce (Harold) Richard, Moulton, AL; grandchildren: Joseph Robertson, Daniel Clayton; one niece and nephew, great nieces, great nephews, and three great great nieces.

Preceded by a grandchild: Dawn Freeland and a nephew: Mark Richard.

Paula M. Johnson

Paula M. Johnson, age 57 of Big Sandy, TN, died Thursday, February 16, 2017.

Paula was a Baptist in her faith and she loved dogs.

She was born August 1, 1959 in Oak Park, IL to the late Buck R. Tillman and Lynette Merrell Tillman of Paris, TN who survives.

Besides her mother, Paula is also survived by one aunt, Joy Dowty of Paris, TN; three uncles, Joe David Merrell of Big Sandy, TN, Thomas Harold Merrell of Paris, TN and Bobby Gene Merrell of Paris, TN; and several cousins.

Besides her father, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mark Randall; and brother, Vincent Tillman.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where the visitation will be Friday February 17, 2017 from 4 – 7 pm and Saturday February 18, 2017 from 9 – 10:30 am.  The service will be graveside at 11:00 am Saturday February 18, 2017 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Chad Kennedy officiating.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

John N. Newman

Mr. John N. Newman, age 80 of Buchanan, TN passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Benchmark Assisted Living of Puryear, TN. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 19, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Paul Setlech, Henry County Medical Center Hospice Chaplain officiating. Burial will follow at Bevil Cemetery with full military rites. Pallbearers will be U.S. Military with honorary pallbearers being John Smith, Ron Gazda, Dr. John Jana and Bill Snow. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 PM Sunday prior to the services. 

John N. Newman was born January 20, 1937 in New York City, New York to the late Newell Newman and the late Frances O'Neil Newman. On July 6, 1972 he married Shirley Emerson Newman who survives in Buchanan, TN. He is also survived by a daughter Shannon Newman Peele and her husband Brian of Emerald Isle, NC; one son, John Newman and his wife Beth of Franklin, TN; one sister, Anne Gazda and her husband Ron of Ft. Myers, FL; six grandchildren, Christopher Newman Peele and his fiancee Chelsea Anderson of Greensboro, NC, Thomas Emerson Peele of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jennifer Taylor Newman of College Station, Texas, Jessica Taryn Newman of Murfreesboro, TN, Emily Faith Newman of Franklin, TN, and Anna Grayson Newman of Franklin, TN; and three nieces, Margaret Jana, Sandy Myles, and Teri Kennedy.
Besides his parents, Mr. Newman was also preceded in death by a daughter Cynthia Newman Cook who passed away in 1989.

Lt. Col. John Newman, U.S.M.C. retired after serving 33 and a half years including two tours in Vietnam. He returned to Tennessee, where he worked as Chief Warrant Officer for Davidson County Sheriff's Office for 15 years before retiring, President Emeritus of Tennessee Warrant Officers Association.

Ted Hitt

Theodore Eugene “Ted” Hitt, age 85, of Buchanan, TN, died Monday, February 13, 2017, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. 

Born November 6, 1931, in Kansas City, MO, he was the son of the late Chester Lee “Ted” Hitt and the late Anna Klein Hitt. 

He was a retired Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force where he last served as an intelligence officer. After retiring from the Air Force, Ted worked for the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service out of Dallas, TX, serving 5 states and several Indian Nations.

Ted was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.  He was a lifetime member of the Amvets, American Legion, and VFW.  He was also a member of the TCU Alumni Association and the Military Officers Association of America.  Ted was a former Rotarian where he was a Paul Harris Fellow, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

He was married on December 20, 1980, to Yvonne Nance Hitt, who survives of Buchanan, TN.   Along with his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Karen (Jim) Siddall of Burleson, TX, Kathleen Hitt of Arlington, TX, Carol (Charles) Eller of Arlington, TX, and Cheryl Worthey of Carrollton, TX; six grandchildren, Jefferson Siddall, Justin Siddall, Adam (Jenny) Siddall, Jessica Rodriguez, John Andrew Eller and Eric Eller.

In addition to his parents, Ted was also preceded in death his first wife, Marjorie NewKirk Hitt.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 5 – 7 PM Thursday, February 16, 2017, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM.  A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 17, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Rev. Krzysztof Rusin officiating and family and friends serving as pallbearers.  Cremation will follow the service.

Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.

Robert Sturgill

Robert Paul Sturgill, age 58, of Camden, TN, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Paris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Paris, TN.

Robert retired from Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN.  He was a member of Mansfield Baptist Church and he loved his animals.

He was born January 13, 1959, in Bristol, VA, to the late Joseph William Sturgill and the late Audrey Mae Boling Sturgill Hall. 

Robert is survived by two brothers, Joseph “Joe” William (Betty) Sturgill of Paris, TN, and Gerald Wayne (Heather) Sturgill of Cincinnati, OH; one uncle, Jim (Norma) Foust of Paris, TN; and one brother-in-law, Keith Watson of Camden, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, April Watson; and a brother, Michael Anthony Dean Sturgill.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Thursday, February 16, 2017.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 17, 2017 at Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, VA., with Joe Sturgill officiating.

Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, VA.

Charles Melton

Charles C. Melton age 86 of Collierville, Tennessee, formerly of Paris passed away at the Hearthside Senior Living Center in Collierville. His funeral service is scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Saturday February 18, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Martin of First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation is to be after 12:00 P.M. Saturday until service time. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Union Cemetery in Paris.

Mr. Melton was born on July 13, 1930 in Memphis to Doyle F. Melton and Ruby Rushing Melton, both preceded. Charles is survived by his wife Elaine Compton Melton of Collierville; daughters, Karen Carl of Brownsville, TN, Cathy (Randy) Paschall of Germantown, TN, Amy (Jay) Harvill of Collierville, TN; son, Mark (Barbara) Melton of Memphis, TN; sister, Gloria Jones of Trenton, TN; sister-in-law, Jane Melton of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Craig Melton, Joel Melton, Melissa Jones, Aaron Carl, Lauren Quick, Matthew Paschall, Rachel Estridge, Kenton Harvill, Lainey Harvill and Issac Harvill. He is also preceded in death by brother-in-law, Frank L. Jones.

Mr. Melton was a 1948 graduate of Memphis Tech High School. He was a 37 year employee with the U.S. Postal Service and in 1987 upon retiring moved to Paris. He was a 30 year career reservist with the 330th General Hospital Unit of the Army Reserve in Memphis. Charles was active in church leadership in both Galloway United Methodist Church in Memphis and the First United Methodist Church in Paris.

Memorials may be made to: Oak Hill Union Cemetery Fund or to the charity of the donors choice.

Barbara Boyd Crocker

Mrs. Barbara Boyd Crocker, age 83 of Gallatin, Tenn. formerly of Buchanan, Tenn. passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at Spring Meadows Healthcare Center in Clarksville, Tenn. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 16, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home in Paris, Tenn. with Bro. Phillip Boyd of Paris Community of Christ officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 PM Thursday prior to the service. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Barbara Boyd Crocker was born February 28, 1933 in Henry County, Tennessee to the late Clouis Lee Boyd and the late Audie Blondie Roberts Boyd. On October 26, 1957 she married Robert "Bob" Crocker, who survives in Gallatin, TN. She is also survived by one sister, Eva Dinwiddie of Nashville; one brother-in-law, Harry E. Crocker of Clarksville; two grandchildren, Robert Neyland (Anna) Crocker of Gallatin and Kellye (Pharris) Garcia of Midland, Texas; four great grandchildren, Madelynn, Austin, and Mollie Crocker and Asher Garcia; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Besides her parents, Barbara is also preceded in death by a son, Robert "Bobby" Crocker, Jr. who passed away on February 14, 2011; two sisters, Pauline Dolan and Mamie Crouch; and three brothers, Rowland Boyd, Frank Boyd, and Fonnie Boyd.

Barbara Crocker was a graduate of Grove High School in Paris, Tenn., class of 1952. After Graduation she went to work for the Golden Peacock cosmetic company as a secretary. She later co-owned Shamrock Resort with her husband Robert, until the business sold in 2005. Barbara was very active in promoting tourism for the resort, the county, and the state of Tennessee.

Anne Y. Flournoy

Mrs. Anne Y. Flournoy, age 97 of Paris, Tennessee passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Paris Healthcare Center. Her body is to be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.

Mrs. Anne Flournoy was born August 14, 1919 in Waterbury, Connecticut to the late Vinzinco Henry Bianchini and the late Catherine Pasini Bianchini. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Flournoy; one sister, Clara Annulli; and one brother, Alfred Bianchini. She is survived by one sister, Enis Dellacamera of Cheshire, Connecticut.

Mrs. Flournoy was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris. She was an Army Nurse who trained in the psychiatric hospital in Concord, New Hampshire.

Samuel B. Fillingim III

Mr. Samuel B Fillingim, III, age 27 of Paris passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his residence. His body is to be cremated and a memorial service will be at 7:00 PM Friday, February 17, 2017 at Set Free Ministries, 101 Caldwell Street, Paris, TN 38242. Randy Roberts will conduct the service.

Samuel B Fillingim, III was born May 3, 1989 to Samuel B Fillingim, Jr. of Pearland, Texas and Linda Fillingim of Paris, Tennessee. Besides his parents, he is also survived by two sisters, Rebecca (John) Siler of Murray, Kentucky and Sarah Fillingim of Paris, TN; one paternal grandmother, Delores Fillingim of Pearland, Texas; six nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kim Conkwright Gooch

Kim Conkwright Gooch, age 47, of Paris, TN, died Friday, February 10, 2017, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville, TN. Kim was employed by Burkes Outlet in Paris.

Born January 13, 1970, in Paducah, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Conkwright and Carla (Baker) Huffine Whitthorne of Paris. Baptist in faith, Kim enjoyed fishing and singing karoke.

In addition to her mother and step father, survivors include: two children, Brittany (William) Vaughan and Jeremy Perkins both of Clarksville, TN; two sisters: Rhonda Butcher of Paris, Becky Singleton of Paris and a brother: Allen (Donna) Conkwright of Owensboro, KY; two step sisters: Penney (Jimmy) Culp of Calvert City, KY and Wendy (Tony) Murt of Paducah KY; step brother: Jeff (Lori) Whitthorne of Ledbetter, KY; grandchildren: Brayden Vaughan, Emerson Perkins and Addyson Vaughan.

Kim also had 7 nieces and nephews that survive: Matt (Monica) Childers, Josh (Tiffany) Childers, Natalie Conkwright, Tyler Conkwright, Jordan Singleton, Brandon Hess and Jessica (Leighanne) Biggs.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with a memorial service to begin at 1:00 pm officiated by Johnathan Smith.

Debra Carol Lemonds Champlin

Debra Carol Lemonds Champlin, age 60 of Paris, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Paris.

She was a member of Community of Christ in Paris and attended TVCC in Paris.  She was owner and operator of Bella Salon of Paris.  Debra enjoyed kayaking, and reading about her cherokee heritage.  She loved Colorado and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Debra was born December 19, 1956 in Detroit, MI to the late Joel Porter Lemonds and the late Betty Jo Hale Lemonds. 

She was married on July 5, 2013 to David Eugene Champlin who survives of Paris.  She is also survived by one daughter, Secret Danielle Sanders of Paris, TN; one sister, Lisa Lemonds; one brother, Joe Dale (Alma) Lemonds of Smyrna, TN; five grandchildren, Hunter Luna, Sydney Luna, Sarah Grace Luna, Jacob Luna, and Danilynn Marie Young; 5 nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Besides her parents, Debra was also preceded in death by her son, Rudy Allen Luna; and one brother, Michael Wayne Lemonds.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be Wednesday February 8, 2017 from 4 – 7 pm and Thursday February 9, 2017 from 10 – 11 am.  The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, February 9, 2017 at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Dr. Gary S. Collier officiating.   Named as honorary pallbearers are Jessie and Joey Williams, and Hunter and Jacob Luna.

Cremation will follow the Service and burial will follow later in Walker Cemetery with her son Rudy.

Anna Marie Waynick

Anna Marie Waynick, age 60, of Buchanan, TN, died Sunday, February 5, 2017, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.

Anna was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Amvets and the American Legion and she formerly worked at the American Legion.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.  Anna loved life and was a mother to all.

Anna was born November 14, 1956 in Muskegon, MI.  She was preceded in death by her father, Clare Edwin Rose; mother, Shirley Ann Casler Rose; and step father, Clarence “Skippy” Jewett.

Anna was married on February 11, 1996 to Gerald Lee Waynick and he survives of Buchanan, TN.   She is also survived by one daughter, Melissa (Kirk) Nergard of Buchanan, TN; two sons, Justin Johnson and fiancée Hope Houston of Paris, TN, and Alan Meritt of Buchanan, TN;  two step-sons, Adam (Sarah) Waynick of Atlanta, GA, and Randall (Cathie) Waynick of West Palm Beach, FL;  two sisters, Deborah Tadlock of Muskegon, MI, and Tammy Duffman of Shelbyville, IN;  two brothers, Ardie Rose of Muskegon, MI, and John Jewett, Sr. of Fruitport, MI;  several step-sisters and step brothers; and four grandchildren, Charles Berberette, Hunter Nergard, Cambria Waynick, and Paisley Johnson.

Ridgeway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Her body is to be cremated.  There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Amvets Post 45, 14335 Highway 79 North, Buchanan, TN 38222.

Richard Shankle

Mr. Richard Shankle age 76 of Cottage Grove, TN passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

His funeral service will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Mike Waddey officiating. Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.

Visitation for Mr. Shankle will be at the funeral home on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM and after 11:00 AM on Tuesday.

Named as pallbearers are John Akers, Reginald Caldwell, Marcus Parrish, Scott Shankle, Steve Shankle, and Thomas Taylor.

Mr. Shankle was born in Henry County, TN on September 9, 1940 to the late Richard Harold "Buddy' Shankle and Edith Sparks Shankle Holland of Paris, TN. On June 5, 1966 he was married to Belew Farmer Shankle who survives in Cottage Grove, TN. Richard is also survived by daughter: Julie B. (Thomas Taylor) Shankle of Sebastian, FL.; son: Jim F. Shankle of Cottage Grove, TN; brothers: Tommy (Lynda) Shankle of Paris, TN, Jerry (Brenda) Shankle of Cottage Grove, TN; step-sister: Brenda Paschall of Paris, TN; brother-in-law: Joe Farmer of Martin, TN; special niece: Christina (Elliot) Shackelford of Washington, DC. He is preceded in death by brother: Teddy Shankle.

Mr. Shankle was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a graduate of UT Martin and held a degree in accounting. Richard worked for many years for Commercial Bank in the Trust Department and earlier for Mitchum Company and recently owned Pled Wade Cattle Company. He was also Trustee for the Cottage Grove Cemetery.

Judy Sanders Scammerhorn

Judy Sanders Scammerhorn, age 68, of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Judy formerly worked as office manager at Henry County Home Health and she was a Past Exalted Ruler at the Paris Elks Lodge.  She loved spending time with friends, family and especially her grandchildren.

Judy was born April 4, 1948 in Paris, TN to the late Prince Albert Sanders and the late Mary L. Norwood Sanders.

She was married to Ronnie Scammerhorn of Paris and he survives.  She is also survived by one daughter, Susannah (Michael) Murphey of Paris, TN; two sons, Robby Miller of Paris, TN and Richard (Tanya) Dunlap IV of Franklin, TN; one sister, Dianne (Glenn) Hicks of Atwood, TN; five grandchildren, Sam Murphey, Ben Murphey, Emma Jane Murphey, Quinn Dunlap V, and Georgia Kate Dunlap; a special niece, Kelly Sanders-Kelley of Nashville, TN; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, Judy was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Sanders on November 23, 2016.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.   Her body is to be cremated.  A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 12 -  3 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 3:00 pm Saturday, February 4, 2017 at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Don Ridgeway officiating.  

Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery.

Brian D. Lyle

Former Henry Countian, Brian D. Lyle, age 47, of Rives, TN, died Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.

Brian loved bowling in the Special Olympics.  He was an avid movie collector, and loved every holiday.

Brian was born February 21, 1969, in Murray, KY, to the late Robert Lynn Lyle, and Brenda Randolph Alexander of Puryear, TN, who survives.

Along with his mother, he is survived by one sister, Robin Sinclair and friend Jamie Paschall of Puryear, TN; two brothers, Cody Alexander of Puryear, TN, and Shaun Newcomb of Carlyle, IL; grandparents, Rodger & Ruby Randolph of Centralia, IL; two uncles, Mike (Linda) Lyle of Frazier, CO, and Greg (Kim) Randolph of Centralia, IL; nine nieces and nephews; best friend, Brian Drushal; and his hero, Dr. Jason L. Harper of Paris, TN.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John D. & Alberta Lyle.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. -P.O. Box 788, Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2017.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Chad Kennedy officiating.

Cremation will follow the celebration of life service. 

Carol Ann Enoch Frazier

Carol Ann (Enoch) Frazier (69) was called home to our Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2017. She was the wife of Terry R. Frazier, married December 28, 1991. They shared 25 years of marriage together.

 Born in Highland Park Michigan on September 23, 1947, to the late Wade and Mildred Enoch. She graduated from Pershing High School in 1965, followed by obtaining a certification in cosmetology. She was employed at Macy’s in St. Louis for over 17 years.

 She moved to Paris, TN in 2014 and is a member of Puryear Church of Christ. Carol to all, who knew her, was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.  She will be remembered for her radiant smile, warm personality, zest for life, “can do anything” attitude, sense of adventure and love of the beach. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

 She is survived by her husband Terry R. Frazier and son Gary (Heidi) Schelton; her step children, Laura Schelton, Lucinda (Rob) Horel, Brad (Amy) Schelton, Christie (Marc) Fussell, Tara Frazier, Melissa (Daniel) Gaitan, brother- in- law Jack Burden, 14 grandchildren, and many friends.

 She was preceded in death by her sister Betty (Enoch) Burden of Brentwood, TN and her grandson Timothy Jacob Frazier.

 Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 5-8pm at the McEvoy Funeral Home at 507 W. Washington St Paris, TN 38242 and from 9am until service time Saturday. Funeral services will be presided by Preacher Don Campbell, on Saturday February 4, 2017 at 11am at McEvoy Funeral Home at 507 W. Washington St Paris, TN 38242.
